President Trump Declassifies All the JFK, RFK and MLK Documents
"People have been waiting for this for decades," Trump said Thursday in the Oval Office. "Everything will come out."

President Donald Trump has issued an order to declassify documents tied to three major assassinations in U.S. history: John F. Kennedy, Robert F. Kennedy, and Martin Luther King Jr.

“People have been waiting for this for decades,” Trump said Thursday in the Oval Office. “Everything will come out.”

John F. Kennedy was assassinated in 1963. His brother, Robert F. Kennedy, was killed in 1968 while campaigning for president, just two months after civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr. was murdered in Memphis, Tennessee.

Over the years, many related documents have been made public, but thousands remain redacted, especially those involving JFK’s death.

Trump directed that the pen used to sign the order be given to Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the son of RFK, nephew of JFK, and Trump’s nominee for health secretary.

Kennedy was shot in Dallas by Lee Harvey Oswald, but speculation about other parties, including government agencies and the mafia, has led to numerous conspiracy theories that persist to this day.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has long questioned the official accounts of both his uncle’s and his father’s assassinations.

Trump had pledged to release all JFK-related files during his first term but delayed after the CIA and FBI convinced him to withhold some documents. The new order stated that keeping these files secret “does not serve the public interest.”

A 1992 law required the records to be fully declassified within 25 years. Trump missed the deadline, as did President Joe Biden, who released additional files in 2022. Still, only a few thousand records remain partially disclosed.

Recent releases have uncovered new information, including details about the CIA’s surveillance of Oswald.
