LOS ANGELES — Travis Kelce is having the time of his life: fresh off winning the Super Bowl and hosting “Saturday Night Live,” the Kansas City Chiefs tight end will cap off his successful season with a music event this month.
On Tuesday, the two-time Super Bowl champion announced that he would organize the first-ever “Kelce Jam” festival during NFL Draft weekend. The debut event will take place on April 28 at the Azura Amphitheater in Bonner Springs, Kansas, a suburb of Kansas City.
Machine Gun Kelly, Rick Ross, DJ duo Loud Luxury, and Kansas City, rap legend Tech N9ne will appear at the event.
“With the draft coming to KC, I think it’s perfect timing for me to throw the biggest music festival that’s ever come here,” Kelce said, estimating that the festival could draw 15,000 people. “We’ll have some incredible stage productions, the best food in Kansas City, tons of attractions, and football-related games.” This is going to be a lot of joy.”
Kelce stated he is capitalizing on his growing fame following the Chiefs’ victory over the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl 57 in February. He presented “Saturday Night Live” last month and co-hosted a popular podcast with his Eagles teammate, Jason Kelce.
Kelce loves “every bit of it” and is ecstatic about his upcoming music festival.
“I’ve been running through every door that’s opened up due to winning the Super Bowl,” he said. “It’s not stopping anytime soon, especially with Kelce Jam.” I believe this will be the final stake in the coffin for the 2022 season.”
Kelce stated that he wanted to introduce some of his friends, including Machine Gun Kelly, who is also from Ohio. After attending four-time Super Bowl winner Rob Gronkowski’s Gronk Beach during the NFL Draft in Las Vegas last year, he was inspired to start his music festival.
“I was inspired by Gronk’s performance last year,” he said. “Now that the draft is coming to Kansas City, I want to throw a big party.” It’s a unique event for the city to organize. I will need Kansas City to come out and support me.”
