Tommy Robinson Says FK TrudeauAs He's Arrested in Calgary, Canada

Tommy Robinson, a British anti-Islam campaigner, was arrested in Calgary, Canada on alleged immigration infraction after making a speech. The far-right activist, real name Stephen Yaxley Lennon, appeared to laugh as officers handcuffed him and led him to their car.

According to a video obtained by Rebel News on Monday, authorities informed the anti-Islam advocate that he was being held for a “outstanding arrest warrant”.

Robinson took a swipe at Canada’s prime leader, saying “f**k Justin Trudeau” to the camera while he was seated in the back seat.

A separate video, which appears to have been taken in secret by Robinson inside the police car, shows him disputing with the two plain-clothes cops who arrested him, demanding to know why he was being held.

Yahoo News summarizes what we know so far about Robinson’s arrest and the possible accusations he faces.

Robinson, 41, was arrested immediately after speaking at an event in Calgary on Monday. He was overheard shouting “absolutely insane” as the officers escorted him away.

While in the car, Robinson wants additional information, and officers notify him that his arrest has been authorized by the director of the Canada Border Services Agency.

Robinson can be heard asking the officers, “Isn’t it crazy how tough you are with immigration on the wrong people?

Tommy Robinson forced to Surrender Passport

“It’s mental, innit.” You act like total weak cowards as a country, allowing every single goddamn f***ing Abdul or anyone into your country – you know nothing about them, their criminal history, or anything, or their ideas, and then you show up mob-handed for me to give a discussion at a seminar.”

One of the policemen says it’s “rather ironic” that Robinson is discussing his criminal history, implying he lied about not having convictions on his application to enter the country. Robinson rejects this, claiming his “boss” filled out the application on his behalf.

Robinson has subsequently been released, but has been forced to surrender his passport and remain in Canada. The activist posted an update on X on Tuesday at 8.15 a.m. UK time, saying: “Ok, I’m free, sort of.

“None of this makes sense.” I’m currently in custody in Calgary and unable to leave the city. These conditions prevent me from completing my trip of Canada and meeting with guests for podcasts. I can’t even leave to go home.”

Rebel News had contracted Robinson to speak in three Canadian cities. Ezra Levant, the outlet’s owner and co-founder, issued a plea on X for donations to help Robinson’s legal bills as he awaits a hearing.

Levant later wrote: “Rebel News has recruited Calgary’s top criminal lawyer, Alain Hepner, and we are working to get him released as soon as possible. He is on the case right now.”

It is unclear when Robinson’s next court appearance will be or how long he will be unable to leave Canada.

In an interview with Rebel News upon his release from detention, he stated that he must report to authorities every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday and advise them of any hotel or address where he is staying.

Given that he has yet to be proven guilty of any immigration violations, it is unclear whether he will be deported, barred from re-entering Canada, or face any other consequence.

Based on his release terms, Robinson will most likely be unable to attend his two other scheduled appearances in Edmonton on Tuesday and Toronto on June 30, but this has yet to be confirmed.

While officers appeared to give suggestions about Robinson’s immigration crime during their talk in the car, this has not to be confirmed, and the specific wording of his charge has not been revealed.

Authorities have yet to react on the footage, which has been circulating on social media as a hidden recording. It is unclear whether Robinson will face any punishment for capturing the footage.
