(VOR News) – The two largest technology companies, Meta and Vodafone, which are collaborating on a project, made the news today that they will be installing network optimization throughout eleven various regions of Europe in order to improve the quality of the video and free up capacity.

During the course of the last few years, there has been a significant rise in the quantity of video content that can be accessed through the use of the internet.

The only people who are supporting the most current hoax Meta regarding longevity that can be found on YouTube are neither those who take ice baths, nor is it Lady Gaga who is performing the “Wednesday dance.” Other people who are supporting the scam include people who take ice baths.

Short video content such as TikToks, reels, stories, and other forms of video content are widely shared by persons who come from a wide variety of different backgrounds.

“Thought leaders” on LinkedIn are among these folks, as are grandmothers who provide guidance on a variety of topics, including baking and parenting.

People are consuming them at a Meta rate never seen before.

We have never seen anything like this before. The firm that manages Instagram, Meta, was compelled to work along with Vodafone to improve short-form videos in order to free up capacity in eleven of the European nations where the carrier operates.

This was done in order to satisfy our insatiable thirst for (smooth) online video content. This action was taken in order to enhance the overall performance of the platform.

In the year 2023, there were Meta around 3.5 billion people all over the world who watched digital videos, as indicated by the data that was provided by Statista.

In comparison to the data from 2019, this number demonstrates a growth of more than 2.7 billion additional people. Video content was responsible for 73% of all mobile traffic by the time the year 2023 came to a close. The whole volume of video traffic that took place throughout the course of the year has increased by 24% as a result of this.

Although the information technology businesses that produce social media applications continue to make the most money, mobile network operators are becoming more outspoken about the fact that they are needed to pay for upgrades.

This is despite the fact that information technology companies continue to make the most money. There is a substantial amount of strain being placed on mobile networks as a result of this increase.

A statement released by the Chief Network Officer of Vodafone, Alberto Ripepi, to Reuters stated that “Meta’s willingness to optimize its video delivery for its applications leads to a more efficient use of existing network resources.” This statement was obtained by Reuters from Ripepi.

Apparently Vodafone and Meta did their first trial in the UK in April.

The test trial lasted for a total of three weeks and was done between the two companies. Following that, at the beginning of the month of June, they Meta initiated the process of installing the enhancement over ten additional networks.

Countries such as Albania, the Czech Republic, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal, Romania, and Spain are examples of those that are included in this category.

According to Gaya Nagarajan, a vice president of network engineering at Meta, the collaboration on video optimization presents an opportunity to drive innovation and impact the future of the internet. This opportunity is presented by the fact that the collaboration is taking place.

“Our relationship with Vodafone is a long-term partnership,” it was stated by Nagarajan. “We are committed to continuing our collaboration with innovative partners such as Vodafone, device manufacturers, equipment vendors, and the wider digital ecosystem in order to push the boundaries of video optimization,” according to the notice that the business issued.

Vodafone was quick to announce that it had “freed up additional network Meta resources on some of its most popular 4G/5G sites” in reaction to the situation.

This was done to ensure that all mobile customers in these busy locations, such as transit hubs and shopping centers, would be able to take use of the new network. Vodafone has made it clear that it is eager to provide a public statement or announcement addressing this matter.
