DeepSeek Rapid Success Causes Training Sessions to Explodes in China
DeepSeek’s rapid success in the market has led to a wave of related training courses appearing on Chinese social media platforms like Wiebo.
Analysts suggest that the growing demand for DeepSeek training mirrors the increasing interest in artificial intelligence across China, while also making AI skills more accessible to the general public.
Although the DeepSeek development team has yet to disclose revenue data, some individuals are already profiting by offering “DeepSeek training courses,” according to Hongxing News.
A quick search on the Xiaohongshu platform, also known as RedNote, reveals a variety of DeepSeek courses. These range from beginner-focused lessons to advanced sessions combining DeepSeek with applications in industries like e-commerce, online content creation, and education.
Some courses are free, while others charge a fee. Most paid courses are priced at 25 yuan (about $3.40) or less. For instance, over 1,000 users have purchased a course titled “First Release DeepSeek Prompt Words: 100 Commands” for just 20 yuan. Similar offerings can also be found on platforms like Taobao, Xianyu, and Pinduoduo.
DeepSeek Courses
Courses tailored for national civil servant exam preparation have gained considerable attention within the education sector. A paid course called “DeepSeek Civil Servant Interview Guide” has attracted considerable interest.
A civil servant exam blogger on Xiaohongshu shared their experience using DeepSeek, stating, “I tested DeepSeek on two exam questions, and its answers were better than what most institutional instructors provide. Its reasoning process was even displayed in screenshots.”
The blogger noted that DeepSeek, with its familiarity with local databases, outperformed human teachers in terms of accuracy and professionalism for civil service exam preparation.
An app developer with a focus on AI and civil servant exam training has even launched a website based on the DeepSeek model. Related posts on Xiaohongshu have garnered nearly 20,000 likes.
Guo Tao, an AI investor, told the Global Times that DeepSeek’s popularity has not only fueled public interest in AI but has also created opportunities for everyday users. “It allows people to quickly develop practical skills, boosting their capabilities in various fields and enhancing their workplace competitiveness. There are also entrepreneurial opportunities linked to DeepSeek,” Guo told the Global Times.
Public Training Sessions
While some users have found these training courses helpful, others have criticized the content. One user remarked, “It’s just recycled material from publicly available courses and offers no real value.” Guo advised consumers to carefully assess the quality of courses before making purchases to avoid being misled.
Beyond public training sessions, national institutions have also begun embracing DeepSeek. The Qingyuan Procuratorate in Guangdong Province recently hosted an internal seminar focused on improving staff skills in digital tools. According to the Yangcheng Evening News, this seminar explored ways to integrate AI technology into legal work, including case analysis, document drafting, and research.
During the session, instructors highlighted DeepSeek’s strengths and weaknesses compared to other widely used language models, both domestic and international.
Qin An, deputy director of the China Society of Police Law’s expert committee on counterterrorism and cybersecurity governance, noted that the public is increasingly embracing AI. He added, “DeepSeek has broken down barriers previously set by the United States, making advanced AI tools more accessible to ordinary users.”
