British Prime Minister Keir Starmer will see former President Donald Trump on Thursday, according to a source familiar with the situation, as international leaders vie for face time with the Republican presidential nominee ahead of the November 5 election.

Keir Starmer will meet at Trump Tower in Manhattan after speaking to the United Nations General Assembly on Thursday evening, according to a source who requested anonymity since Trump’s itinerary is not public.

According to the source, their meeting comes after Trump met with Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the president of the United Arab Emirates, on Wednesday.

The Trump campaign, as well as the UK and UAE embassies in Washington, did not reply to requests for comment.

It was unclear what Trump spoke with the UAE’s leader or what he intended to address with Starmer, both of whom are in the United States for the 79th session of the UN General Assembly.

Keir Starmer differs starkly from Trump

Keir Starmer, the leader of Britain’s Labour Party, differs starkly from Trump on many public policy issues, but he has declared a desire to work with whoever wins the US election.

He met with Democratic President Joe Biden earlier in September to discuss whether Western missiles could be used to hit targets in Russia.

The UAE is a major geopolitical power in the Middle East, and it has assisted in removing wounded people from the Gaza Strip, which is the site of an ongoing conflict between Israel and Palestinian Hamas militants that has destroyed the civilian population.

The United States is concerned about the UAE’s close relationship with China and has placed limits on exports of some American technology to the country. Some congressional leaders have also raised worry that the UAE is covertly aiding paramilitary fighters in Sudan, something the UAE denies.

Earlier this week, the Emirate leader met with President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democratic presidential candidate.

Trump has declined talks

Previous elections included meetings between presidential candidates and foreign leaders. Trump and Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton each met with the presidents of Japan, Egypt, and Ukraine at the 2016 United Nations General Assembly.

However, such encounters are sensitive, as the law restricts what candidates can say or debate during them.

The Logan Act of 1799 allows Americans outside the government to contact with foreign officials, but it limits their capacity to resolve U.S. problems. Trump has declined talks with several foreign leaders in recent days.

He cancelled a joint appearance in Pennsylvania with Polish President Andrzej Duda over the weekend and did not meet with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, as planned. He is also unlikely to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy, despite a statement last week that the two would communicate when the Ukrainian leader was in the United States.

Kamala Harris Slammed Over Her Border Failure Allows 400K Convicted Criminals into the US

Harris Slammed for Allowing Over 400K Convicted Criminals to Cross the Border

Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials released fresh statistics this week indicating that up to 425,000 convicted criminals are living in the United States illegally because of the Biden-Harris administrations failed border policy.

In a letter to US Representative Tony Gonzalez, R-Texas, US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Deputy Director Patrick Lechleitner disclosed that as of July 21, 662,566 non-citizens with criminal ties had not been detained while awaiting immigration procedures, according to the Border Report.

There are 425,431 convicted criminals and 222,141 pending criminal accusations. Over 60,000 people are on the docket for assault.

Approximately 16,000 people have been convicted of sexual assault, while almost 57,000 have been found guilty of offences involving “dangerous drugs.” The data were most recently updated on July 2024.

Rep. Mark Green, R-Tennessee, chair of the House Homeland Security Committee, blasted the Biden-Harris administration’s border policies for allowing dangerous individuals into the country.

Biden-Harris administration slammed

“It may be shocking to hear that the Biden-Harris administration is actively releasing tens of thousands of criminal illegal aliens into our communities, but their own numbers conclusively prove this to be the case,” Rep. Green wrote in an email. “This defies all common sense.”

“How many more Americans need to die or be victimised before this administration is forced to abide by the laws they swore to uphold?” Rep. Green asked. “This is lunacy. It is not something that any civilized, functioning society should allow.”

In a letter to Rep. Tony Gonzales, R-Texas, ICE said that the high figures are the result of local prosecutors refusing to comply with its detainer requests, which allow police to hold migrants in custody until ICE can get them. Many sanctuary cities deliberately refuse these pleas to avoid looking prejudiced towards refugees.

“ICE recognises that some jurisdictions are concerned that cooperating with federal immigration officials will erode trust with immigrant communities and make it harder for local law enforcement to serve those populations,” the organisation said in a statement. “However, ‘sanctuary’ policies can end up shielding dangerous criminals, who often victimise those same communities.”

On a Friday press call, several bereaved parents accused Vice President Kamala Harris for their children’s deaths, claiming that her border policies allowed hazardous drugs and criminals to enter the United States. The Trump campaign organised the call, which came ahead of Harris’ travel to the Arizona-Mexico border on Friday.

Trump slams Vice -President Harris

“Her reckless do-nothing approach directly resulted in the death of my son and countless other young Americans,” a mother told me. “Our kids are supposed to learn from their mistakes but thanks to Kamala Harris’s open borders, instead they die.”

Meanwhile, former President Donald Trump described the statistics as “the worst numbers I think I’ve ever heard” during a town hall session in Warren, Michigan, on Friday.

He blasted Vice President Harris, claiming that it is all down to “our great border czar, who’s incompetent, who’s totally incompetent.”

“They were all released in our country. And we cannot put up with this. “This is blatant incompetence.” He further mocked Harris for being someone “who always complains and doesn’t do anything.”

“She’s at the border today. “What a day for the border!” Trump stated.

Vice President Kamala Harris paid her first visit to the US-Mexico border since becoming the border czar, promising to bridge the gap between border security and “creating a system of immigration that is safe, orderly, and humane.”

However, her trip to the border did not halt criticism of her border policy, as the National Border Patrol Council slammed her symbolic visit in a statement. “After years of not only ignoring, but also contributing to the problem, Vice President Kamala is finally heading down to the border,” he stated.

This is nothing more than her checking the box; in actuality, it is a smack in the face of the men and women who put their lives on the line every day, as well as a slap in the face to the American people.

Melania Trump Was Paid For A Rare Appearance At A Political Event. It’s Not Clear Who Cut The Unusual Six-Figure Check

Published

melania trump

Melania Trump has not been seen much on the campaign trail this year. She received a six-figure salary for one of the few times she has attended a political event, which is a very unusual move for a candidate’s spouse.

According to former President Donald Trump’s most recent financial disclosure form, the former first lady appeared at two Log Cabin Republicans political fundraisers this year and was paid $237,500 for one of them in April. The payment was categorized as a “speaking engagement.”

According to Trump’s most recent disclosure form, the Log Cabin Republicans paid Melania Trump for the April fundraiser. But it’s unclear who cut the bill: Charles Moran, president of the Log Cabin Republicans, told CNN earlier this month that the group did not pay for her to appear, and the disclosure form provided no additional information regarding the source of the cash.

Ahead of the conservative LGBTQ group’s next gala in July, a source said at least one donor was asked for a similar payment. It’s unclear whether Melania Trump was eventually compensated. The campaign has yet to release its financial disclosure for that period. According to CNN, Ric Grenell, a Trump friend and former ambassador to Germany, made the plea on Melania Trump’s behalf. According to sources, Grenell has also aided the former first lady with other business enterprises.

Campaign finance and government ethics experts argue that paying a presidential candidate’s spouse to speak at political fundraisers during an election is rare, ethically problematic, and should, at the very least, be properly disclosed in disclosure forms.

“It appears to be quite self-serving. Virginia Canter, the principal ethics counsel at Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics, stated that she is surprised to see this.

If the organisation did not make the payment to Melania Trump, Canter believes the former president’s financial disclosure form may have violated ethics laws because it should have named the sponsor who paid Melania Trump rather than merely where she spoke.

“You could indicate that payment was for a speaking engagement for the Log Cabin Republicans, but you also need to report who the source of the payment was, otherwise you can’t assess for the conflicts of interest, and it wouldn’t be in compliance with the rules,” she told me. “It should have properly been reported so that the source of the income is listed for the honorarium.”

Melania Trump supporters who attended Log Cabin Republican events and were unaware she was paid for at least one of them defended her, claiming it is her right to choose how she spends her time and to get compensated for it. According to a source close to Melania Trump, she has determined that “my best and highest use is where I am,” and that “she’s a priceless, timeless asset” for Donald Trump.

A spokesman for Melania Trump declined to respond to CNN’s questions.

Melania Trump was also paid $250,000 for speaking at a Log Cabin Republican event in December 2022, one of three payments of $250,000 or more she received that month, shortly after the former president announced his candidacy for reelection, according to Donald Trump’s prior year financial disclosure form. One of the events was held in Florida, while the other was for Grenell’s California-based nonprofit, Fix California. Grenell did not reply to repeated requests for comment.

The former first lady was also paid $155,000 by a Trump-aligned super PAC, Make America Great Again, Again, for a speech she gave in Palm Beach, Florida, in December 2021, before Trump became a contender.

She has previously been at Log Cabin Republican events; in 2021, she was the guest of honour at the group’s annual Spirit of Lincoln Gala.

Melania Trump’s fundraising visits highlight her limited involvement in the campaign this year. In addition to the two Log Cabin Republican engagements, she’s appeared alongside her husband at a fundraiser organised by billionaire investor John Paulson in Palm Beach and made a brief appearance at the Republican National Convention, albeit she did not talk as much as in 2016. There is no evidence that she was paid for her appearance at Paulson’s benefit.

“She’s been so disconnected from this campaign and so absent that I could see her saying, ‘If I put in my time, I’ll get paid for it,'” said Stephanie Grisham, a former Trump White House press secretary and top adviser to Melania Trump who has become a critic of the former president. “Even when we were in the White House, she was always so concerned about people making money off of her because she felt it was money she should be earning.”

According to Grisham, Melania Trump instructed her staff in 2018 to direct a White House gift shop to stop selling Melania Trump memorabilia, such as bobbleheads, without permission.

“She was outraged.” “She didn’t like that they were making money off of her,” Grisham added.

According to Donald Trump’s financial records, the former first lady made more than $330,000 last year from a license agreement for the sale of digital trading cards, or NFTs. Her website sells jewellery and collectibles.

In addition, the former first lady will release a memoir next month and go on a promotional tour independent from the campaign. In a series of short videos promoting her book X, she made rare remarks about her husband’s attempted assassination in Butler, Pennsylvania, the 2020 election results, and her career as a nude model.

“I can’t help but wonder, why didn’t law enforcement officials arrest the shooter before the speech?” she asked in one of the recordings, referring to the gunman who shot and injured Trump at a rally on July 13 before being apprehended by the Secret Service.

Melania Trump is not the first member of the Trump family to receive compensation while in the political spotlight. Kimberly Guilfoyle earned a $60,000 speaking fee for presenting her fiancé, Donald Trump Jr., at the “Stop the Steal” protest on January 6, 2021, ahead of the revolt at the US Capitol. Her speech lasted less than three minutes.

Former government officials have been known to charge speaking and appearance fees for events other than political fundraisers.

From 2001 to 2016, former President Bill Clinton and former First Lady Hillary Clinton earned almost $153 million in paid speeches. Former President Barack Obama reportedly earned $400,000 from a single speech at a Wall Street health conference in 2017, drawing condemnation from members of his own party at the time. Joe and Jill Biden earned a total of $15.6 million in the two years following his resignation as vice president and before commencing his presidential candidacy, mostly from book agreements and speaking appearances.

However, spokespeople for Jill Biden, Michelle Obama, Hillary Clinton, Laura Bush, and Bill Clinton claim they were not compensated for any fundraising appearances during a political campaign.

Hunter Biden, the president’s son, was investigated after selling pieces of artwork priced at $85,000 each at a Manhattan art gallery last spring while his father was running for reelection.

By all accounts, this year’s Log Cabin Republican fundraisers were a success. Grenell said on X in July that the former first lady “opened her NYC penthouse tonight to raise money” for the organisation.

“It’s the first campaign event ever held at the Trump residence,” he said. “And we raised $1.4 million in a single night.” Our goal is to secure 50% of the LGBT vote for Donald Trump.”

Politico reports that the organisation launched its “Road to Victory” effort to target voters in battleground states during Melania Trump’s speech at Mar-a-Lago in April.

False Reports Of Explosives Found In A Car Near A Trump Rally Spread Online

NEW YORK — Trump rally in the news again. Law enforcement officials on Long Island rushed rapidly on Wednesday to remove social media posts erroneously stating that bombs had been discovered in a car near former President Donald Trump’s planned event in New York.

The fake claims of an explosive began spreading hours before the Republican presidential nominee’s campaign event at Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale, just days after he was reportedly the victim of a second attempted assassination.

Nassau County officers Commissioner Patrick Ryder stated that officers questioned and detained someone who “may have been training a bomb detection dog” near the demonstration venue and “falsely reported explosives being found.”

Lt. Scott Skrynecki, a county police spokeswoman, stated in follow-up messages that the person, who has yet to be named, was a citizen, not a member of a law enforcement organization.

He also stated that the individual was not employed by or involved with the event, which is expected to attract thousands of Trump fans to the arena that was once home to the NHL’s New York Islanders.

The rally is Trump’s first in Long Island, a suburban area immediately east of New York City, since 2017.

In 2020, President Joe Biden defeated Trump by nearly 4% on Long Island, beating him in Nassau County by about 60,000 votes, despite Trump winning neighboring Suffolk County by more than 200 votes.

Skrynecki and other county officials reacted quickly Wednesday to debunk the online queue claims, which appear to have begun with a post by a reporter citing unnamed sources in the local police department.

The statements were subsequently widely reposted on X, formerly Twitter, by several famous accounts, including the company’s owner, Elon Musk, who has roughly 200 million followers. X spokespeople did not immediately respond to an email requesting comment.

“False,” Skrynecki texted the Associated Press as the rumours spread.

“No. Ridiculous. “There is no validity,” stated Christopher Boyle, spokeswoman for Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman.
