The beginning of Stanley Tucci and Felicity Blunt’s relationship was fraught with difficulties.
The Devil Wears Prada actor admitted that because of their 21-year age difference, he first hesitated to date Felicity, his wife of more than ten years.
On Desert Island Discs on BBC Radio, Stanley said, “I kept trying to break it off.” He later explained that I was 21 years older than her and didn’t want to feel old for the rest of my life. But I was aware that this person was extraordinarily unique.
In addition, Stanley stated that after the 2009 passing of his first spouse, Kate Tucci, he was “afraid to get into a relationship” with Felicity. However, Stanley and the three kids he had with Kate—the 21-year-old Camilla and the 21-year-old twins Isabel and Nicolo—have found solace in Felicity’s company.
The beginning of Stanley Tucci and Felicity Blunt’s relationship was fraught with difficulties.
Stanley Tucci had a son Matteo, 8, and a daughter Emilia, 5, with Felicity. “Felicity has been so incredible, taking on a widower and three children whose mother died,” Stanley said. “That’s a big deal at a young age, as well. She certainly improved matters for all of us. She is perfect.
The literary agent, 41, and the host of Stanley Tucci: Searching for Italy initially met at the 2006 premiere of The Devil Wears Prada, in which he co-starred with Felicity’s sister Emily Blunt.
At the 2010 wedding of Emily and John Krasinski, the couple reconnected. Stanley and Felicity got married two years later.
In 2017, Stanley Tucci told The Guardian, “It is not easy to find someone who is going to take on three teenagers and a widower.” This is a lot. She was ready to accept the challenge, though. She treats the kids like her own, albeit being a stepparent is difficult.
