One of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s six children has officially lost the “Pitt” from her name.
On Monday, a Los Angeles court granted a petition by the former couple’s third-eldest child to formally change her name from Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt to Shiloh Nouvel Jolie.
She first filed a petition to make the name change official on May 27, the day she turned 18.

Several sites have reported that other Jolie children have informally removed Pitt from their names, but Shiloh is the first to take legal action to formalize the change. Notably, their daughter Vivienne was billed as “Vivienne Jolie” in the Broadway production of “The Outsiders.”
Along with Shiloh and Vivienne, the former marriage has four more children: Maddox, Pax, Zahara, and Knox.
The “Maleficent” star, who rose to prominence in the 1990s, asked for a name change in 2002 to legally remove her father Jon Voight’s surname after their relationship deteriorated.
Brad and Jolie had been romantically together for a decade before their marriage in 2014. Jolie filed for divorce in 2016, and a judge pronounced them single in 2019. However, the divorce case has yet to be finalized, and custody and financial problems are still being contested.
In recent years, the performers have sued each other for differences in common business enterprises and property, including a winery in France.
In a 2022 court file, Jolie claimed that during a 2016 trip, Brad seized her by the head and shook her, then choked one of their children and struck another when they attempted to defend her.
