Ryan Seacrest has a new job, so turn off the lights.
Just over two weeks after Pat Sajak announced his departure from Wheel of Fortune after 40 years, Seacrest announced his replacement.
“I’m truly humbled to be stepping into the footsteps of the legendary Pat Sajak,” he tweeted on June 27. “I can say, along with the rest of America, that it’s been a privilege and a pure joy to watch Pat and Vanna [White] on our television screens for an unprecedented 40 years, making us smile every night and feel right at home with them.”
“Pat, I love the way you’ve always celebrated the contestants and made viewers at home feel at ease,” said Seacrest, who will also be a consultant producer on the show. I look forward to learning everything I can from you during this shift.”

The American Idol host said that one of his earliest hosting duties was for Merv Gryphon on the game show Click 25 years ago. “So this is truly a full circle moment for me,” he added, “and I’m grateful to Sony for the opportunity.”
Seacrest, who stepped down as co-host of Live! Kelly and Ryan, earlier this year, also stated that Vanna would remain on the show, despite any rumors to the contrary.
He said, “I can’t wait to continue the tradition of spinning the wheel and working alongside the great Vanna White.”
According to a press release on June 27, Seacrest agreed to host the game show for a multi-year contract beginning in 2024, following Sajak’s retirement.
