Robert De Niro Reveals He Welcomed Baby No. 7
Robert De Niro is taking on the task of a lifetime as a father to seven children. The Oscar winner just welcomed another child, according to E! News, though the identity of the infant’s mother has not been revealed.
De Niro originally revealed the baby news to ET Canada, saying that he now has “seven” children and that “I just had a baby.”
The new addition to the De Niro family joins Drena, 51, and Raphael, 46, whom he has with ex Diahnne Abbott, and his 27-year-old twin boys Aaron and Julian with ex Toukie Smith. De Niro has two children from his marriage to Grace Hightower: son Elliot, 25, and daughter Helen, 11. (After over 20 years together, De Niro and Hightower filed for divorce in 2018.)
“Grace and I have two wonderful children.” “We are entering a period of transition in our relationship, which is a difficult but constructive process,” he said in a statement to E! News in November 2018. “I honor Grace as a wonderful mother and request privacy and respect from all as we develop our roles as parenting partners.”

During a recent interview, the private actor, who also happens to feature in the new film About My Father, revealed unusual details about his life as a father and his parenting approach.
“There’s no getting around it with kids.” I wouldn’t say I like having to enforce rules and regulations. “But [there are] times when you just don’t have a choice,” he told ET Canada. “And I believe any parent would say the same thing.”
“You always want to do the right thing by the children and give them the benefit of the doubt,” he continued, “but sometimes you can’t.”
And, despite being one of Hollywood’s most recognizable performers, De Niro does not consider himself a “cool” father.
“I’m okay,” he said. “My kids disagree with me occasionally, and they’re always respectful.” My 11-year-old daughter occasionally annoys me, and I battle with her. I adore her, but you know what I mean. And now that I have a child, more will come. But that’s exactly what it is.”
