Ricky Martin And Husband Jwan Yosef Break Up After 6 Years of Marriage

Ricky Martin and Jwan Yosef have reached the end of their career.

After six years of marriage, the Grammy winner and Syrian-Swedish painter announced their intention to split.

“For some time, we considered transforming our relationship,” the couple said in a joint statement released on social media on July 6, “and it is after careful consideration that we have decided to end our marriage with love, respect, and dignity for our children and honouring what we have experienced as a couple all these wonderful years.”

“Our greatest desire now is to maintain a healthy family dynamic and a relationship centred on peace and friendship to continue the joint upbringing of our children while maintaining the respect and love we have for each other,” they stated.

Lucia, 4, and Renn, 3, are the couple’s children. The “Maria” singer also has twin sons, Matteo and Valentino, who are 14 years old.

“As always, we thank you for all the love and support we received throughout our marriage,” they wrote at the end of their letter. We are all working together to grow this new chapter in our life.”

Ricky and Jwan began dating in 2015, and the singer announced the engagement the following year.

“We just got engaged,” he said on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in November 2016, adding that he was “nervous” when he proposed.

“I got down on my knees and took out the small metal box.” “I just had it in a little velvet pouch and instead of saying, ‘Will you marry me?’ I said, ‘I got you something!'” claimed the 51-year-old musician. “Then he was like, ‘Yes.'” Ricky claimed that the proposal was “very beautiful,” albeit it took him a bit to realize the artist, 38, had said yes.

A little more than a year later, the Emmy nominee claimed the pair had secretly married.

“I’m a husband,” he told E! News exclusively in January 2018. “However, we’re throwing a big party in a couple of months.”

As Ricky stated, they were ecstatic to begin their new chapter.

“It feels amazing!” Ricky went on. “I’m afraid I can’t announce him as my fiancé. I can’t. My hubby is his name. He’s my guy.”
