Rapper Cardi B Announces Pregnancy and Divorce on the Same Day
Cardi B, the Grammy Award-winning rapper, is expecting her third child and announced the news to her 166 million Instagram followers on August 2. Her declaration came just hours after news of her divorce from rapper husband Offset went public.
However, rather than dwelling on what she has lost as a result of her relationship’s dissolution, the musician has focused on what she has gained.
“With every ending comes a new beginning,” the 31-year-old stated in the description to her image. Addressing the growing bundle of joy, the performer added: “I am so grateful to have shared this season with you, you have brought me more love, more life, and most of all renewed my power!”
Cardi B, whose true name is Belcalis Cephus née Almánzar, stated that her baby taught her that she can have it all and does not have to choose between life, love, or passion.

“It’s so much easier taking life’s twists, turns and tests lying down, but you, your brother and your sister have shown me why it’s worth it to push through,” she said afterwards.
Cardi closed the statement on a good note, stating her love for her child and enthusiasm for the baby to experience what they helped her do and “pushed me to do”.
The singer did not say if Offset is the father. They currently have two children: Kulture, 6, and Wave, 2.
Earlier this year, their on-again, off-again relationship appeared to be robust when the Migos band member surprised Cardi B with half a million dollars in Hermès Birkin bags for her birthday.
Cardi B reportedly filed for divorce after accusations of Offset cheating on her surfaced, but this was not addressed by a spokesperson for the singer, who announced the split to the press.
“They’ve grown apart,” one source told Page Six. That is what prompted her to make this decision above all else. This is what she wants to do.”
