Rachael Lillis Who Voiced Pokémon Characters Dies at 46
Rachael Lillis, the actor who lent her voice to numerous Pokémon characters in the cartoon series and films, including Misty, Jessie, and Jigglypuff, has passed away at the age of 46.
Lillis passed on Saturday following her diagnosis of breast cancer in May 2024.
Veronica Taylor, who portrayed the main character Ash Ketchum in the English dub of Pokémon, shared Lillis’ passing on social media with a heavy heart.
Taylor wrote, “Rachael Lillis was a remarkable talent, a bright light that shone through her voice whether she was speaking or singing.” “She will be forever remembered for the numerous animated roles she portrayed, with her most beloved performances as Pokemon’s Misty and Jessie.”
“Rachael was extremely grateful for the unwavering love and encouragement that supported her during her cancer treatment.” It genuinely had a beneficial impact.
She further stated, “I was fortunate to have known Rachael as a friend.” Until the very end, she possessed an infinite amount of compassion and generosity. She was incredibly intelligent, delightful to be around, and possessed an exceptional memory.
Additionally, she possessed a great sense of humour. She was diligent and exhibited profound compassion. I am uncertain as to how this extremely dark vacuum will be filled now that her light no longer illuminates it.
The death of Lillis was announced by her sister, Laurie Orr, on a GoFundMe page that was established to cover a portion of her medical expenses. The page had already raised $98,000.
Orr wrote, “She passed peacefully Saturday night, without pain, and for that we are grateful.” He also stated that the funds would be allocated to the remaining debts, a memorial service, and cancer research.
