Prince William Warned Harry Over Meghan Markle

A royal specialist believes Prince William was correct to be concerned about Prince Harry during the early stages of his relationship with Meghan Markle.

In an interview with The Sun’s Royal Exclusive show on June 13, former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond stated that Harry, 39, and Meghan, 42, moved so quickly in their romance, unlike William, 41, and Kate Middleton.

“Kate was given ten years to peer into the goldfish bowl of royal life,” Bond stated. “I believe it was brilliant because she witnessed all of the limits and glare that publicity brings. Because their courtship lasted so long, she was able to judge that she could handle it – and William could see that as well.”

“This is why William was correct to guide or warn Harry ‘Are you sure you’re not going a bit fast in this relationship with Meghan?'” Bond added.

“It affronted Harry to be questioned like that but I think it came from a good place.”

Harry and Meghan began dating in 2016. They met through a mutual acquaintance. They announced their engagement the following year and married at Windsor Castle in May 2018.

Prince William Waited Eight Years

Meanwhile, William and Kate, 42, were together for eight years before marrying in 2011.

In his 2023 memoir “Spare,” Harry stated that his older brother warned him against dating Meghan, who was still working in Hollywood on the hit program “Suits.”

“She is an American actress, after all, Harold. “Anything could happen,” William allegedly informed Harry.

Harry also claimed in his book that he informed William that he thought their late mother, Princess Diana, had helped him “find” Meghan. William “took a step back,” Harry alleged, and told his sibling that he was “taking things a bit too far.”

Two years after their wedding, Harry and Meghan left their employment as British royals and moved to the United States. They now live in California with their two children and are separated from Harry’s family.

During an interview with The Sun, Bond said she “can’t see” Harry ever returning to his royal duties.

“And yeah, I miss him. “Harry was the most popular royal a few years ago, wasn’t he?” asked Bond. “Having watched him grow up and knowing him just a little bit, he was a wonderful little boy and a charming, jovial adolescent.”

“At least that’s what we witnessed. He was fantastic for the royal family, bringing a natural common touch and relatability.”

Bond went on to say that Harry and Meghan would have been a fantastic asset if he had stayed, but I doubt he would return. If I could pray, I would wish him a happy life filled with everything he desired. The independence he desired, the wife he adores, and the children he cherishes.”

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have remained estranged from the royal family since they unleashed a series of full-fledged attacks on the Palace in a bombshell television interview with Oprah Winfrey, a six-part Netflix documentary, and Harry’s memoir.

While in London last month for an Invictus Games celebration, Harry did not see any of his family members, despite the fact that his father and sister-in-law are both cancer patients.

However, a recent rumor indicated that Harry is looking for a home in the UK since he misses his buddies in his home country.

Meanwhile, Meghan Markle has received widespread criticism in the United Kingdom, with many individuals openly disliking her. Critics claim she violated royal customs and created unnecessary controversy to the Royal Family.

Her outspokenness and willingness to confront norms turned off those who wanted the monarchy to remain intact. Some believe she manipulated popular sympathy and eclipsed the other royals.

The British press frequently exacerbated negative attitudes by focusing on genuine or fabricated controversies. Even her decision to resign down from royal duties and relocate to the United States with Prince Harry fueled the resentment.

Many interpreted it as a rejection of British ideals. Public forums and social media are rife with criticisms of her acts and intentions.

The gap between her fans and adversaries is enormous, reflecting underlying conflicts over modernizing the monarchy and tackling issues such as race and privilege.
