OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – According to a video posted on his account on the social media platform X, formerly Twitter, country music artist Zach Bryan was arrested and temporarily incarcerated Thursday in northeastern Oklahoma by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
Bryan stated that he was traveling through Vinita, about 55 miles (88 km) northeast of Tulsa, when police pulled over his security guard.
Zach, who is from Oologah, about 25 miles (40 km) northeast of Tulsa, claimed he also stopped and stepped out of his vehicle to have a cigarette after 10 to 15 minutes when the police warned him to get back inside or be brought to jail.
Zach claimed he cursed the officer before being handcuffed and placed in the patrol van.
“I get way too lippy with him,” Zach admitted. “I’m just talking like an idiot,” he said, and the cop was “just doing their job.”
Zach stated that he spent “a few hours” at the Craig County jail before being released on bond and spoke to and shook hands with the officer before leaving.
