UnitedHealthcare’s CEO, Brian Thompson, Was Shot And Killed In New York.
(VOR News) – A source who is aware of the matter and who spoke about the incident stated that Brian Thompson, who was the UnitedHealth Chief Executive Officer of the insurance business of UnitedHealth Group, was fatally shot in midtown Manhattan on Wednesday morning.
This information was provided when the person spoke to CNBC about the incident. Thompson was dead as a result of a shooting that took place.
Earlier today, UnitedHealth Group cancelled its investor day.
This decision was reached as a result of the widespread dissemination of stories surrounding the incident. During that period of time, UnitedHealthcare was the most prosperous private health insurance company in the United States, and Thompson was serving as Chief Executive Officer of the organisation.
An individual who is familiar with the current situation asserts that the police are conducting their investigation into the gunshot as if it were a targeted hit, and they have a suspicion that a suppressor may have been used in response to the shooting.
This information comes from a person who is familiar with the issue. It was determined that the individual in question was a male of Caucasian descent who was wearing a ski mask and carrying a bag at the time of the incident.
On the basis of these features, they were able to identify the potentially guilty party.
At six forty-six o’clock in the morning Eastern Time on Wednesday, a person who was fifty years old was shot in the middle of Manhattan, according to a spokeswoman for the Deputy Commissioner of Public Information for the New York Police Department. The incident occurred in Manhattan.
Manhattan’s central business district was the location of the incident. The city of Manhattan was the location where the tragedy occurred. The identity of the individual who was being questioned, on the other hand, was not confirmed by a representative assigned to the corporation.
When the individual was initially carried to the Mount Sinai West hospital, it was determined that he was in a critical condition, as stated in the statement that was issued by the spokesman for the organisation.
UnitedHealth found out later that he’d passed away.
Additionally, they noted that there have been no arrests made and that the investigation is still underway until further notice. This is an extra point of interest that they mentioned.
For the investor day that UnitedHealth Group was going to be holding, the New York Hilton hotel, which is located in the heart of the city, was going to serve as the location for the event. A request for response was addressed to UnitedHealth Group; however, the corporation did not immediately respond to the request for comment that was made that was provided to them.
The corporation did not provide any information regarding the fact that the shooting occurred on the day that was reserved for individuals who had invested in the company.
A transcript indicates that UnitedHealth Group representatives voiced their apprehension, stating, “I fear that we – some of you may be aware – are confronting a grave medical issue involving one of our team members.” This comment was a reaction to their concerns on the scenario.
This statement was issued in reaction to the adverse circumstances confronting UnitedHealth Group. This comment was made by them in response to their concerns on the unfolding situation.
This remark was delivered on the day designated only for private investors. “Consequently, we must conclude today’s event, which I trust you will understand,” the statement continues.

“Shocking Video” Vancouver Police Shoot Armed Suspect 10 Times
Police shot and killed a man after two people were stabbed in downtown Vancouver on Wednesday, the latest incident of violence to jolt the city and raise public safety worries in Canada.
Just after 11:30 a.m., Vancouver City Police responded to a call from restaurant employees near Robson and Hamilton. The caller said that a man had taken booze and was carrying a knife inside the eatery.
When police arrived, they discovered the armed suspect in a nearby 7-Eleven, across from the Vancouver Public Library’s central branch.
According to Vancouver police, the suspect died at the hospital after being shot, and two people had non-life-threatening injuries.
According to witnesses, a man grabbed booze and a knife from a restaurant and then used the weapon across the street to stab people at a 7-Eleven.
Mainul Islam, a part-time delivery worker who was outside the 7-Eleven, filmed the incident and reported seeing a man wielding a knife inside. “It’s a terrible scene,” he remarked.
Islam estimates that officers shot the man ten times.
Islam stated that he had been picking up a food order when he noticed a “homeless guy” attempting to steal cigarettes behind the counter. He stated that staff were attempting to stop the man.
“He pulled a knife from his pocket and attempted to stab a man, but he fled. He then attempted to stab a woman.” Maybe he previously stabbed that lady in the back; I saw blood, but she was fine.”
He told CBC that the police arrived within minutes and “just shot this guy.”
Wednesday’s stabbing fuelled concerns that officials aren’t working fast enough to address crime in the urban centre.
Annette O’Shea, executive director of the Yaletown Business Improvement Association, expressed her optimism that Premier David Eby is “listening and paying attention.”
“I believe the streets of Vancouver and British Columbia require involuntary treatment. I believe this is a sign of politicians waiting too long to act,” she remarked. “The business community has asked for it.
“I believe it is the reason this government has regained power. But they need to go faster,” she remarked, referring to the BC NDP’s narrow victory in the provincial election.

Manhunt Launched After United Healthcare CEO Gunned Down
Police in New York City have launched a manhunt for a masked suspect who shot and killed United Healthcare CEO in a “brazen, targeted attack”. Brian Thompson was shot and killed outside the Hilton Hotel in Midtown Manhattan.
The 50-year-old father of two was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead minutes after the attack, according to New York City police.
Investigators claimed they did not know why the assailant departed the scene without stealing any of the victim’s things.
New York City police have offered a $10,000 reward.
The attack occurred about 06:45 a.m. in one of Manhattan’s busiest neighbourhoods, near the tourist hotspots of Times Square and Central Park, in an area where gunshots are extremely unusual.
Police drones, helicopters, dogs, and thousands of CCTV cameras have been scanning the city street by street to locate the offender.
According to New York City Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch, “Every indication is that this was a premeditated, pre-planned, targeted attack.” The suspect, wearing a black face mask and a cream jacket, appeared to be waiting for Thompson outside the hotel.
The assailant was also caught on security video minutes before the shooting at a Starbucks less than two blocks away.
When Thompson arrived alone on foot at the Hilton, the shooter stepped out from behind a car and shot him in the back.
CCTV Footage of Shooting
According to police sources, the victim stayed at a nearby Marriott hotel. CCTV footage from the attack shows the suspect using a silencer on his weapon while opening fire.
According to NYPD Chief of Detectives Joseph Kenny, the gun appeared to malfunction, but the suspect rapidly fixed it and continued firing.
Commissioner Tisch said the offender fled the scene on foot before taking an e-bike and riding to Central Park, where he was last seen.
New York Governor Kathy Hochul stated that police had briefed her on the “horrific and targeted” attack.
“Our hearts are with the family and loved ones of Mr Thompson and we are committed to ensuring the perpetrator is brought to justice,” the spokesperson said in a statement.
United Healthcare CEO praised
United Health Group, the parent company of United Healthcare, said it was “deeply saddened and shocked at the passing of our dear friend and colleague”.
The group stated, “Brian was a highly respected colleague and friend to all who worked with him. ”
Thompson, who lived in a Minneapolis suburb, began his work as a certified public accountant.
He started at UnitedHealthcare, the largest private insurer in the United States, in 2004 and was named United Healthcare CEO in 2021. Last year, he earned $10.2 million. In May, a pension fund sued him, alleging fraud and illegal insider trading.
According to a Thompson family statement, “We are heartbroken to learn of Brian’s terrible death.
“Brian was an incredibly loving, generous, talented man who truly lived life to the fullest and touched so many lives.”

Joe Biden Ignores Enquiries Regarding His Decision to Pardon His Son, Hunter.
(VOR News) – During his trip to Angola for the first time as president, Vice President Joe Biden of the United States chose not to address questions about his choice to break his word and grant a pardon to his son Hunter on Tuesday.
He was in Angola for the first time as president. As an additional point of interest, he disregarded the requests that he provide an explanation for his decision to modify his opinion from what he had previously maintained.
Joe Biden and President Lourenço of Angola met in the presidential palace.
A response to the Angolan group was provided by Vice President Joe Biden, who said, “Welcome to America.” This occurred throughout the course of the discourse.
During the time that he was engaged in this activity, he kept himself entertained by laughing at the comments that were directed towards him. On Monday, Karine Jean-Pierre, the press secretary, informed journalists that Vice President Joe Biden would not be available to answer questions from the media while he was travelling to Africa.
Biden was scheduled to be in Africa. Joe Biden, the Vice President of the United States, has, for the most part, avoided any involvement with the media since the election of Donald Trump as president, which took place a month ago.
Following the president’s repeated assurances to the people that he would not use his extraordinary powers for the benefit of his family members, Vice President Joe Biden’s decision to grant his son a sweeping pardon for crimes that occurred over the course of the previous eleven years has caused a political storm in Washington.
The pardon was granted for crimes that occurred over the course of the previous eleven years. The crimes that were committed throughout the course of the previous eleven years were eligible for the pardon that was awarded.
Additionally, Joe Biden stated that his own Justice Department was responsible for a “miscarriage of justice” in the prosecution of his son. He said this throughout his speech.
Joe Biden sent the statement to the media.
At the same time that Trump is getting ready to take over the Oval Office in seven weeks, they are getting ready to modify their approach for dealing with him. These individuals are concerned that the pardon will make it more difficult for them to dispute the legal proceedings that the future president will take.
This is in addition to the fact that Biden has stated that the charges against his son were brought for political reasons. Reversing the decision has been met with opposition by a sizeable number of Democrats, who have expressed their dissatisfaction of the move.
The legacy of Vice President Joe Biden, who is getting ready to leave his position on January 20 of the next month, was also put in jeopardy at the same time.
The Vice President of the United States made the following statement to the public during the month of June: “I abide by the jury decision.” This statement was made in reference to his son’s anticipated trial in Delaware for a firearms case. I am going to move forward with this plan, and I will not forgive him for the actions he took in response to it.
On multiple occasions throughout the month of July, Jean-Pierre issued the following statement to the press: “It’s still a no. It will not be accepted by us in any way. In no way, shape, or form is that the answer.
I would also like to state that I do not have any further comments to make at this time. He would grant his son a pardon if such a request was made. Even so, I do not.”
Jean-Pierre restated his position in November, just a few days after Trump was elected president. The following is what he said in response to the question: “Our answer stands, which is no.”
