Authorities in Oklahoma have revealed new information about the mysterious disappearance of four men found shot and dismembered. Authorities revealed Monday that their remains had been identified as the four missing men.

The four men, Mark Chastain, 32, Billy Chastain, 30, Mike Sparks, 32, and Alex Stevens, 29, were reported missing by their families a week ago.

Joe Prentice, chief of police in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, stated that the investigation is now murder as all four men had gunshot wounds and had been dismembered before being dumped in the river.

“This made verifying identity impossible,” he added, adding that the river appears to have been utilized as a waste site.

According to the Okmulgee Police Department, the four close friends are thought to have left Billy Chastain’s house on the west side of Okmulgee on October 9.

Authorities received many claims of sightings of the men during the inquiry. They were unable to confirm any of these sightings, though.

Chief Prentice stated that investigators are still attempting to ascertain a date for the murders but that the remains were likely disposed of on Monday morning.

According to a witness statement, Oklahoma investigators believe that the men intended to commit a crime before their disappearance.

He stated, “We do not know what they intended to do or where they intended to do it.”

Investigators said they checked a salvage yard where one of the men’s phones was monitored but found nothing. Nonetheless, Prentice discovered evidence of a ‘violent occurrence’ on a nearby property.

Joe Kennedy, the owner of the salvage yard, is now considered a person of interest in the case, but he has not been formally identified as a suspect. Officials report that Kennedy is currently missing.

According to the Okmulgee Police Department, the blue PT Cruiser of Joe Kennedy has been recovered and is currently in police possession.

According to reports, it was left behind at a store in Morris, Oklahoma. Investigators are investigating how it came to be in that location.

Prentice states that Kennedy had denied knowing the men in prior interviews. The police report that they are still looking for the missing bicycles.

“I have investigated over 80 homicides in my career. I have investigated numerous victim killings.

Prentice stated, “I have previously worked on dismemberment cases, but this one has the most victims and is the most brutal.

On Friday afternoon, search crews discovered human remains in a river southwest of Okmulgee, Oklahoma.
