MrBeast to Gives Away 10 Tesla Cybertrucks in Latest YouTube Challenge

(CTN News) – MrBeast, a YouTube celebrity known for his extravagant challenges and generous giveaways, revealed his latest video on Saturday, in which he plans to give away ten Tesla Cybertruck units.

The video shows 50 YouTube personalities competing for a $1 million reward by attempting to stay within a specific region, with the last person standing being proclaimed the winner.

In an initial challenge, MrBeast allowed players to leave the competition area to take a free-throw basketball shot. Successful entrants would win a Cybertruck for one of their subscribers and be eligible to re-enter the competition.

Those who missed their shot were eliminated. While many contestants failed, a handful secured a Cybertruck for their top subscribers.

The complete film is available on MrBeast YouTube account, where viewers can see the competition unfold. It’s unclear whether all ten Cybertrucks were given away during the video challenge.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk responded to the video on the social networking platform X, formerly known as Twitter, with the word “cool.”

This isn’t MrBeast’s first partnership with Tesla products. In January, he showed a Model X in one of his films and discussed it with Elon Musk, which resulted in the video being put on the X platform.

The Tesla Cybertruck has recently gained traction, becoming the best-selling vehicle in the United States, and it was priced above $100,000 in June.

The electric truck also participated in the Goodwood Festival of Speed hill climb. Tesla has updated Cybertruck drive units to improve efficiency and issued voluntary recalls for wiper motor and trunk bed trim issues.

Megalopolis Trailer Pulled By Lionsgate Over Fabricated Critics Quotes

Megalopolis

Megalopolis Trailer has been pulled by Lionsgate Films after it came to light that the critics’ quotes in the movie used were fabricated, according to a representative who spoke with Fox News Digital.

Lionsgate Films stated it was immediately recalling the trailer for Megalopolis. A Lionsgate spokesperson said in a statement. “We offer our sincere apologies to the critics involved and to Francis Ford Coppola and American Zoetrope for this inexcusable error in our vetting process. We screwed up. We are sorry.”

Released on Wednesday, the Megalopolis teaser used statements from critics such as Pauline Kael and Roger Ebert from previous Coppola films, even though these quotes did not appear in their evaluations.

Taking advantage of some of the stronger critical backlash towards September’s self-financed $120 million epic “Megalopolis,” the goal appears to have been to draw attention to the polarising reception that now-classics like “The Godfather” and “Apocalypse Now” received.

Guardian Goes Woke on “Megalopolis”

Even before its release, “Megalopolis” has been divisive. According to a May article in The Guardian, Coppola exhibited “old school” conduct towards female coworkers.

A source informed the newspaper that the director allegedly coaxed ladies into sitting on his lap. Reportedly, Coppola tried to kiss scantily clothed or topless female extras while filming a scene in a nightclub.

“I have known and worked with Francis and his family for over 35 years,” shared Darren Demetre, executive co-producer of “Megalopolis” with The Guardian at the time.

On his latest epic, “Megalopolis,” I served as an executive producer, second unit supervisor, and first assistant director, all while advising on and directing the production. Francis remained faithful to his creative vision while producing and directing a big independent film, making all the tough decisions to assure its timely and budgetary delivery.

“There were two days when we shot a celebratory Studio 54-esque club scene where Francis walked around the set to establish the spirit of the scene by giving kind hugs and kisses on the cheek to the cast and background players,” according to the statement.

The club vibe was crucial to the plot of the film, and it was his way of contributing to that vibe. Throughout the duration of the project, I did not become aware of any allegations of harassment or inappropriate behaviour.

Alain Delon, born on November 8, 1935, in Sceaux near Paris, rose to international acclaim in the 1960s with films including “Purple Noon” (1960), “The Leopard” (1963), and “Le Samouraï” (1969). During his peak career in the 1960s and 1970s, he collaborated with renowned directors such as Luchino Visconti and Joseph Losey.

Alain Delon appeared in a number of Italian films, including Visconti’s “Rocco and His Brothers” (1961), which received the Special Jury Prize at the Venice Film Festival. His diverse career includes “Is Paris Burning?” (1966), “The Sinners” (1966), and “The Assassination of Trotsky” (1972).

NEW YORK — Eugene and Dan Levy will become the first father-son co-hosts of the Emmy Awards next month.

“We are thrilled to welcome two generations of comedy genius to the Emmy’s stage as hosts,” said Television Academy Chair Cris Abrego in a statement Friday.

The Levys won big at the 2020 Emmys, which were broadcast remotely due to the pandemic, with their hit show “Schitt’s Creek.” Eugene was named Outstanding Comic Actor, while Dan was named Best Supporting Comedy Actor. Dan won for writing and directing, and both won the Outstanding Comedy Series award as executive producers.

“For two Canadians who won our Emmys in a literal quarantine tent, the idea of being asked to host this year in an actual theatre was incentive enough,” the couple stated in an email. “We’re thrilled to be able to raise a glass to this extraordinary season of television.”

The Levys will be the first father-son hosts at the Emmys and the first since Colin Jost and Michael Che from “Saturday Night Live” in 2018.

The 76th Emmy Awards will be broadcast live on ABC from Los Angeles on September 15 and streamed on Hulu the following day.

Eugene isn’t just a co-host this year; he’s also been nominated for his Apple TV+ series “The Reluctant Traveler With Eugene Levy,” which follows the unusual marriage of a sardonic and cautious host and some of the world’s most beautiful destinations.
