The situation for Meryl Streep and Don Gummer is complicated.
Their longstanding partnership ended years ago, according to a statement from her representative to E! News.
“Don Gummer and Meryl Streep have been separated for more than 6 years,” according to the representative, “and while they will always care for each other, they have chosen lives apart.”

Following her 1978 wedding, the sculptor and Oscar recipient had four children: Henry, 43, Mamie, 40, Grace, 37, and Louisa, 32.
The couple last appeared in public together at the 2018 Academy Awards.
Their romantic relationship spans several decades, and Gummer accompanied Streep to her very first Oscars in 1979 as a newlywed. The Mamma Mia! star made amends to him in 2012, when she brought home her third trophy, although she could not express her gratitude to him in 1983 when she won the statue for Sophie’s Choice.
“First, I’m going to thank Don,” she continued, “because when you thank your husband at the end of the speech they play him out with the music, and I want him to know that everything I value most in our lives, you’ve given me.”
Both parents, who were both Yale University alums, witnessed their daughters make their mark in Hollywood. Mamie has appeared in The Good Fight, The Good Wife, and The Lifeguard; Grace in The Newsroom, American Horror Story, and Frances Ha; and Louisa in The Gilded Age.
Concerning their son, he pursued a career in the music industry as Henry Wolfe.
“The nature of my mother’s personality can be overshadowing,” Henry told The Daily News previously, as reported by People. “On occasion, I am concerned that my story is insufficient. Although my mother is an integral part of the narrative, and I remain amenable to inquiries regarding her, I wish I had something more compelling regarding plot points.
He further stated, d”That leads to a number of assumptions that are generally unjust, such as the notion that the recognition aids me in some way.” However, this aches because others begin to believe that I am unmotivated and unworthy of their serious consideration.
Streep, who is 74 years old, has twenty-one Oscar nominations and is the actor with the most nominations. These nominations are for her performances in The Post, Into the Woods, The Iron Lady, The Devil Wears Prada, Out of Africa, and Kramer vs. Kramer.
