Meghan Markle Unlikely to Move to UK with Prince Harry Due to Security Concerns
According to GB News, Meghan Markle will not join her husband Prince Harry’s Royal Family in the UK. The major issue, he said, is the country’s poor security and the Sussexes’ lack of a base.
In May 2018, the pair married at Windsor Castle. However, by 2020, they resigned from their positions as working members of the Royal Family.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex visited the UK and were granted Frogmore Cottage. They lived there until they resigned from their Royal Family positions.
Despite living in Montecito, California, the Sussexes chose Frogmore as their UK headquarters and stayed there when they returned to England.
King Charles requested that the pair depart the royal home in 2023, following the publication of the Duke of Sussex’s memoirs ‘Spare’.
“Spare” criticises top members of the Royal Family, including Queen Camilla, Prince William, and the Princess of Wales. The Sussexes officially left the royal house in July 2023 and have not maintained a UK base since leaving Frogmore.
After being ejected from Frogmore Cottage, Prince Harry has made several excursions to London, but has slept in hotel rooms rather than the Royal Family residence.
Future Prospects for Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s UK Visits
In July, Prince Harry stated that he would not bring Meghan back to the UK because he was uncomfortable with the degree of protection he received in his birth country.
Highlighting the same concern, royal analyst Tom Quinn, as quoted by the Mirror, said: “Meghan has said she’s only willing to return to England if she and Harry have their own place and the security they both believe is essential.”
“Meghan will never return to the UK and stay with her husband’s relatives.”
