(LOS ANGELES) – Mayim Bialik will no longer appear on “Jeopardy!” as a host.
On Friday, the actor from “The Big Bang Theory” announced her resignation via Instagram.
“Sony has informed me that I will no longer be hosting the syndicated version of Jeopardy!” Bialik put pen to paper. “I am incredibly honored to have been nominated for a primetime Emmy for hosting this year and I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to have been a part of the Jeopardy! family.”
Ken Jennings, a former show champion, has hosted season 40 of the syndicated show on his own.
In a statement, Sony Pictures Television stated that Bialik was the one who announced her resignation.

“We made the decision to have one host for the syndicated show next season to maintain continuity for our viewers, and Ken Jennings will be the sole host for syndicated Jeopardy!” Sony stated. “We are truly grateful for all of Mayim’s contributions to Jeopardy!, and we hope to continue to work with her on primetime specials.”
Bialik and Jennings shared hosting responsibilities on “Jeopardy!,” although Bialik hosted the first season of “Celebrity Jeopardy!” alone. Bialik announced her support for the Hollywood writers’ strike in May and rejected appearing on the game show.
Mayim Bialik is an American actress widely known for her roles in the TV shows “Blossom” and “The Big Bang Theory.” She is also a neuroscientist with a Ph.D. from UCLA.

The show has a long-standing history, having first aired in 1964 and then later rebranded in its current format in 1984. “Jeopardy!” has gained a dedicated fan base and is known for its distinctive format and challenging trivia questions.
The show has also featured various notable hosts, including the iconic Alex Trebek.
