Lizzo, the Grammy winner who is currently facing a sexual harassment lawsuit, appeared to exit the music industry in an Instagram post Friday night. “I am tired of being dragged by everyone in my life and on the internet,” she began her passionate appeal.
“All I want is to make music that makes people happy and leaves the world a little better than I found it. But I’m beginning to believe that the world does not want me in it.”
“I’m getting tired of putting up with being dragged by everyone in my life and on the internet,” she began. Lizzo on Instagram
“I’m constantly up against lies being told about me for clout & views … my character being picked apart by people who don’t know me and disrespecting my name,” she further lamented.
She concluded, “I didn’t sign up for this s–t — I QUIT.”
Page Six did not immediately hear back from Lizzo’s representatives regarding the head-turning post.
“I QUIT!” she concluded with a peace sign emoji.
Her response came shortly after attorneys for her former backup dancers, Arianna Davis, Crystal Williams, and Noelle Rodriguez, criticized her for performing at President Biden’s re-election fundraiser on Thursday evening.
“It’s shameful that Lizzo would be chosen to headline an event like this amid such egregious allegations,” Ron Zambrano told NewsNation. “Without getting into politics, I can’t see why anyone would want Lizzo representing them in any capacity given her heinous behavior. It’s just an awful appearance.”
Davis, Rodriguez, and Williams filed a lawsuit against the “Truth Hurts” singer in August 2023 for allegedly fostering a toxic work environment and sexual harassment.
Lizzo weight loss
Lizzo has been the voice of body positivity for years, but in a new interview, she revealed that she is transitioning to a more body neutral perspective. Translation: she is less concerned with constantly loving her body and more with simply accepting it.
“I’m not going to lie and say that I love my body every day,” the 35-year-old told The New York Times. “The bottom line is, the way you feel about your body changes every single day.”
The Grammy Award winner has a new bikini collection out under her Yitty brand, but she is also facing continuing litigation alleging harassment and creating a hostile work environment (which she has denied).
Basically, there’s a lot going on with her right now, including new weight loss.
Lizzo is’slowly’ shedding weight due to dietary adjustments.
Lizzo told The Times that she adjusted her diet, which has resulted in modest weight loss.
“I’ve been methodical, losing weight very slowly,” she told me. But she also acknowledged that some celebrities have faced public criticism for losing weight. Her point of view: “My body is nobody’s business.”
Lizzo announced on TikTok in 2020 that she is a vegan. She also revealed that she had been a vegetarian for seven years before that.
She mentioned in a 2021 day in the life TikTok that she has a protein smoothie that “tastes like a—” in the morning. She is focusing on exercise that makes her happy.
Lizzo has always posted videos on social media of herself doing various exercises, such as treadmill running (while singing!) and Pilates. However, she told The Times that she is currently focusing on routines that make her feel good.
“I’m taking the time every day to put some love into my body,” she told me. “There is never a day when I regret taking a walk or doing some Pilates.”
Lizzo is working on a “new me.” She posted an Instagram video in January showcasing her Yitty shapewear and stating that she’s trying to alter things up.
“New Year, New Me. You know how they say, ‘Run don’t walk? “Teleport, bitch,” she exclaimed. Overall, Lizzo told The Times that she is simply being honest about where she is with her body.
“There are some days I adore my body, and others when I don’t feel completely positive,” she was quoted as saying.
