ICYMI, the singer, took a quick break from Velvet Rodeo by Miranda Lambert. On July 15, the Las Vegas Residency event called out a group of concertgoers for taking photographs while the performer was singing “Tin Man.” In a social media video that has gone viral, Lambert is heard telling the crowd, “These girls are worried about their selfie and not listening to the song. I’m getting annoyed with it.
Adela Calin, one of the fans in the group, later spoke out about the incident and said she was “appalled” by Lambert’s remark.
The 43-year-old told NBC News, “It felt like I was back at school with the teacher scolding me for doing something wrong and telling me to sit back in my place.” “I get the impression that she was determined to portray us as young, immature, and arrogant. But we were all trying to capture a picture as adult women in our 30s to 60s.
Before the performance, Calin and her friends attempted to snap a group shot, but they “couldn’t get one good picture” because of the lighting, she continued.

She recalled: “We were very pleased because we had the finest seats in the whole theatre.
And while Calin expressed disappointment in Lambert’s actions, she added that given the rising number of performers—including fellow country star Kelsea Ballerini—being hit by thrown objects during performances in recent months, the three-time Grammy winner was probably overly cautious about her personal space.
Calin posted the pictures she and her pals shot at Lambert’s concert on Instagram on July 17. Six admirers posed on a balcony with their backs to the stage in one of the pictures, with the singer of “House That Built Me” standing behind them.
Calin captioned the photos, saying, “These are the 2 pictures we were talking [sic] when Miranda Lambert stopped her concert and told us to sit down and not take selfies.”
