Joe Jonas Files For Divorce From Sophie Turner After 4 Years Of Marriage

MIAMI, Fla. – Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner filed for divorce on Tuesday, following four years of marriage and two children.

The 34-year-old Jonas Brothers singer filed for divorce from the 27-year-old “Game of Thrones” star in Miami-Dade County Court in Florida.

The filing states, “The marriage between the parties is irretrievably broken.”

Turner and Joe tied the knot in a private Las Vegas wedding chapel ceremony on May 1, 2019, following the Billboard Music Awards. Dan + Shay, a country duet, played during the wedding.

Willa, the couple’s daughter, was born in 2020; another daughter, whose name has not been revealed, was born last year.

According to the divorce papers, Joe is seeking shared custody of the girls. According to the lawsuit, the couple had a prenuptial agreement, which Joe believes will be implemented.

Requests for comment from Jonas and Turner were returned after some time. Turner and Jonas both released identical remarks on their Instagram profiles on Wednesday.

In interviews, the couple stated that mutual friends had long wanted to meet them until they began communicating via Instagram direct messaging in 2016. They met in person in October that year and were exclusively dating by December. In October of 2017, they announced their engagement.

Turner, who is from Northampton, England, portrayed Sansa Stark on HBO’s “Game of Thrones” for eight seasons and Jean Grey in 2016’s “X-Men: Apocalypse” and 2019’s “Dark Phoenix.”

The Arizona-born Jonas rose to prominence in a band with siblings Nick and Kevin in 2005, followed by a Disney Channel sitcom. They launched their sixth studio album in May and are now on a stadium tour in the United States.
