According to someone familiar with the report, Aaron Rodgers has a torn left Achilles tendon and will likely miss the rest of the New York Jets’ season.

An MRI on Tuesday verified the four-time NFL MVP’s injury, according to a person who spoke anonymously because the team did not announce it. Later Tuesday, coach Robert Saleh was expected to talk to reporters via video.

According to NFL Network, Rodgers tore his Achilles tendon, confirming the Jets’ suspicions. Due to the substantial therapy required, torn Achilles tendons often need several months of recovery.

“Concerned with his Achilles,” Saleh stated following the Jets’ 22-16 overtime triumph against Buffalo on Monday night. “The MRI will most likely confirm our suspicions, so please pray tonight.” But it isn’t good.”

In return for Rodgers, the Packers acquired the 13th overall pick, a second-rounder, and a sixth-rounder in this year’s draught, as well as the No. 15 overall pick and a fifth-rounder.
