A Jaipur man identified as Dhannalal Saini was found dead in the Muhana area allegedly murdered by his wife, Gopali Devi, and her lover, Deendayal. The two were arrested in Jaipur Yesterday.
Jaipur police revealed that Saini discovered his wife’s affair and confronted her lover at his shop, where Gopali also worked. During the argument, Gopali and Deendayal attacked Saini, killing him on the spot. To cover up the crime, they put the body in a sack and set it on fire. The burnt remains were found the next morning.
A similar case occurred in Meerut, where a Merchant Navy officer, Saurabh Rajput, was allegedly murdered by his wife Muskan and her lover Sahil. Saurabh’s family grew suspicious when Muskan sent fake messages from his phone.
Ayush Vikram Singh stated that after Saurabh went missing on March 4, Muskan and Sahil were questioned.
Sahil admitted to stabbing Saurabh to death with Muskan’s help. They dismembered his body, placed it in a drum, and sealed it with cement. The body was later recovered and sent for post-mortem.
Both Sahil and Muskan were arrested, and an FIR was filed against them.
Three accused of murder
Meanwhile, a group of 40 villages in Dasua district, announcing a social boycott of the families of three men accused of the murder of a student over a dispute. The issue began when the student refused to allow Holi colours to be smeared on him.
The boycott, declared in Ralawas village under the Lalsot police station, means cutting all ties with the accused and their families. This includes preventing them from taking part in community activities like sharing meals or water.
The decision was made during a meeting attended by nearly 1,000 people. The gathering, which lasted from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m., also decided that anyone who breaks the boycott will face similar consequences.
Hansraj Meena, 25, was fatally attacked in a library on March 12 after he resisted attempts by local youths to smear him with Holi colours. The mahapanchayat heard statements from 18 witnesses regarding the attack.
The police case filed after the incident names three suspects: Ashok Meena, Jeetram (also known as Bablu), and Kaluram Meena. These men allegedly dragged Hansraj into the library and severely beat him.
They reportedly used belts, punched, kicked, and one of them is accused of strangling him. Hansraj lost consciousness and was taken to a government hospital in Lalsot, where doctors pronounced him dead.
Shocked and grieving, Hansraj’s family protested on the nearby National Highway the same day, blocking one side of the road. Police have arrested one suspect, Jeetram (29), while the other two remain on the run. A police official stated that efforts are ongoing to capture them.
