Film Composer Hans Zimmer, 65, Proposes To His Partner On London Stage
LONDON — The two-time Academy Award-winning composer Hans Zimmer got down on one knee in front of a loud cheering crowd in London and proposed to his girlfriend.
The 65-year-old German urged his partner to join him on stage as his performance at the O2 arena on Thursday night drew close before professing his love.
He turned to face her and asked, “Why did I bring you here? I was going to ask you a significant question. Do you have the rear door locked? Is milk in the refrigerator? Does the freezer contain any sorbet?
Then he asked the crucial question: “Will you marry me?”
She appeared to accept, and the couple embraced as the audience cheered.
A Zimmer representative confirmed that he had popped the question to his companion, whose name and age were withheld.
The music Zimmer has written for popular films over the past few decades, such as “Gladiator,” “The Dark Knight,” and “Inception,” was played for his fans.

The Ukrainian Odesa Orchestra, to which he gave a special tribute, joined him on stage along with his band.
According to Zimmer, it takes a lot of bravery to sit here, smile at you, and play flawlessly for three hours while you are unaware of everything happening at home.
The artist, who has already been married twice, has been nominated for 12 Academy Awards and has won two for best scores for the Disney movie “The Lion King” from 1994 and the sci-fi blockbuster “Dune.” Both appeared in the program.
