DDG disapproves of the fact that kissing other guys onscreen is a part of Halle Bailey’s universe.
On July 14, the “I’m Geekin” rapper came under fire for his latest song, “Famous,” whose lyrics criticized his girlfriend for playing Ariel in The Little Mermaid.
“Filming a movie now you kissing males / You know I love you very much / I don’t care if that s–t for publicity / He sings, “I don’t wanna watch this s–t no longer. Why are you two holding hands in the picture? You know I’m insecure, so don’t do that.
On the red carpet of their film’s London premiere in May, Halle and co-star Jonah Hauer-King, who plays Prince Eric in the Disney version, were seen holding hands.
While she has been seeing DDG for more than a year and has even referred to their relationship as “transformative,” DDG discussed how much he despises being in love in the chorus of his new song.
Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr., 25, sings, “Fall in love, I hate that s–t / Knockin’ me off my grind, I can’t f–k with relationships.” “I don’t even ask for much, I ask you to do the basic s–t / Hardest thing I did was fall in love with a famous bitch,” the song goes. “I ain’t even got enough time in a day for me to chase a bitch.”
Online commentators criticized the lyrics, with one writing, “The misogyny and pure dismissal of Halle is overwhelming.”

But when TMZ questioned DDG on July 12 about Halle’s opinion of his playboy persona in the music industry, he responded, “It’s just work.”
Days after taking a picture with Jonah on the red carpet this spring, Halle raved about what she had discovered about dating in real life.
The actress said, “I think the best thing about young love is that you’re able to continue to find yourself through this journey of loving somebody else,” to People in May. And you’re learning things about your heart that you may have never noticed and new aspects of yourself.
She continued, when love becomes more prominent in your life, “I feel like things shift… As a woman, I have undoubtedly learned more about myself. It’s a tremendously fantastic experience, but it changes you.
What exactly makes DDG so unique? She admitted to Essence magazine last year, “I’ve been an admirer of his for years. “As I was growing up, I frequently encountered young Black YouTube producers and was continually motivated by them. He belonged to them.
