George Clooney Has Some Choice Words For Quentin Tarantino, Who Said He Doesn’t Think Clooney Is A Movie Star
George Clooney had a heated disagreement with director Quentin Tarantino.
“Quentin said some s—t about me recently, so I’m a little irritated by him,” George remarked in an interview with GQ published on Tuesday, in which he appeared alongside his “Wolfs” costar Brad Pitt.

Clooney went on to explain that Tarantino “did some interview where he was naming movie stars” and that when Clooney’s name came up, the “Pulp Fiction” director stated that George is “not a movie star.”
“All right, dude, f—k off,” George joked, with Pitt — a frequent Tarantino collaborator — chuckling in the background. “I do not mind giving him s—t. “He gave me s—t,” George said.
The “Gravity” star most likely refers to a chat that Deadline columnist Baz Bamigboye had with Tarantino during the Cannes Film Festival, which the journalist recounted in a 2023 column.
Tarantino and Bamigboye discussed who Tarantino regarded as a movie star, and actresses such as Julia Roberts, Leonardo DiCaprio, Charlize Theron, and Denzel Washington were mentioned as potential candidates.
Tarantino remarked, “It’s been a long time since I think George has drawn anybody to an audience.” When was his last hit that drew a crowd?”
George, who was directed by Tarantino in an early episode of “ER” in 1995 before going on to co-star in the Tarantino-penned “From Dusk Till Dawn” one year later, has recently chosen to produce and direct more movies rather than act in them.
But, with films like “Wolfs,” which premiered in September, and a new Noah Baumbach-directed picture that he recently finished filming, Clooney acknowledged why he’s returned to acting.
“I’ve been directing for a year now, and my children have reached a particular age. We’re not going to pull our children out of school and run around,” he added in this week’s interview. “Before that, people could just join us and we’d all go. But things are different now. So now I’ll probably focus on other things, such as acting.”

George and his wife, human rights lawyer Amal Clooney, have twins Ella and Alexander, all seven years old.
Finally, Georgemade it clear that there is no bad blood between him and Tarantino, stating later in the GQ interview how “lucky” he and Pitt had been to have frequently worked with some of Hollywood’s best filmmakers, including Tarantino.
“But no, look, we’re really lucky we got to work with these great directors,” George replied. “Director and screenplay is what keeps you alive.”
