Pierce Brosnan Is In Hot Water, Accused Of Trespassing In A Yellowstone Thermal Area

CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Pierce Brosnan, whose fictitious film character James Bond has been in hot water on numerous occasions, is now in hot water in real life, accused of trespassing out of limits in a thermal area during a recent visit to Yellowstone National Park.

According to two federal citations issued Tuesday, Brosnan strolled in an off-limits area at Mammoth Terraces, in the northern section of Yellowstone near the Wyoming-Montana border, on Nov. 1.

Brosnan, 70, is expected to appear in court on Jan. 23 in the world’s oldest national park courthouse. The Associated Press sent a comment request to his Instagram account on Thursday and emails to his agent and attorney.

Yellowstone officials did not respond to requests for comment. According to the US Attorney’s Office for the District of Wyoming, Brosnan was in the park on a personal visit, not for film work.

Accused Of Trespassing In A Yellowstone Thermal Area

Mammoth Terraces is a picturesque location with mineral-encrusted hot springs gushing from the mountainside. They’re just a few of the park’s hundreds of thermal features, which include everything from spouting geysers to gurgling mud pots with hot water.

Going off-limits in such regions can be hazardous: Some millions of visitors to Yellowstone each year are burned because they ignore warnings not to stray off the track.

If they are found, trespassers are often sentenced to jail time, large fines, and park bans.

In addition to his four James Bond films, Brosnan appeared in the 1980s TV series “Remington Steele” and in the films “Mrs. Doubtfire” and “The Thomas Crown Affair.”
