“I want to address what I consider to be one of the most thoughtless, insensitive, and ignorant things I’ve ever done,” Hampshire says in his statement. “I stupidly thought it would be funny to dress up as Johnny Depp and Amber Heard for Halloween.” I am profoundly remorseful and ashamed to have released something so heinous into the universe.”
“Domestic abuse is never, ever funny,” she went on to say. “These are real issues with real people, and I regret my actions.”I shall improve in the future. I’m very sorry.”
After an outcry, the photographs were removed, but TMZ released them.
Hampshire is shown with her hair slicked back and dressed as Depp, while her pal is costumed as Heard. The two used props such as a wine bottle and fake feces, the latter a reference to Depp’s evidence during the trial about finding feces in their bed.
Depp and Heard sued one other in 2022 after he claimed her of defaming him in a Washington Post opinion article she wrote in 2018.
