Disney Reaches Tentative Agreement With California Theme Park Workers
Anaheim, California – Disney has reached a tentative agreement with four unions representing thousands of employees at its California theme parks, including ride operators, candy manufacturers, and parking attendants.
The union coalition announced early Wednesday that its 14,000 members will have the opportunity to vote on the agreement on Monday. No other information was immediately available. The agreement comes only days after workers overwhelmingly approved a potential walkout after months of negotiations over salaries, sick leave, and other perks.

“We have shown them that we are the true magic makers of the park and today proves that when workers stand together for what they deserve, we win,” according to a statement released by the alliance.
Labor unions represent most of Disneyland Resort’s more than 35,000 employees. Disneyland, California Adventure, and Anaheim’s Downtown shopping and entertainment center are all part of the property.

Disneyland, the world’s second-most visited theme park behind Magic Kingdom at Disney World in Florida, applauded the initial agreement, which follows the resort’s clearance from Anaheim earlier this year for a significant expansion.
“We care deeply about the wellbeing of our cast members and are pleased to have reached a tentative agreement with Master Services Council that addresses what matters most to our cast while positioning Disneyland Resort for future growth and job creation,” the resort’s spokesperson, Jessica Good, said in a statement.
