Disney Executive Dave Hollis’ Cause Of Death Revealed
The cause of death for Dave Hollis has been determined.
The former Disney executive and ex-husband of influencer Rachel Hollis died of “toxic effects of cocaine, ethanol, and fentanyl,” according to an autopsy report acquired by NBC News from an Austin, Texas, mortuary.
According to Today, his death, confirmed in February, was judged an accident by a report from the Travis County Medical Examiner’s Office stating that officials found Dave unresponsive and proclaimed him dead at the site.
According to Today, the medical examiner also reported that Dave’s death was a result of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease and high blood pressure.
According to the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute, atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease occurs when plaque builds up in the arteries.
The cause of death for Dave Hollis has been determined.
According to Today, Dave had a “dilated and enlarged heart” and a history of high blood pressure, depression, and alcohol and drug misuse.
“Mr. Hollis’s underlying natural heart disease would have predisposed it to develop an abnormal rhythm,” the study went on, “particularly in the presence of a stimulant drug such as cocaine.”
A family spokesperson told the Los Angeles Times on February 14 that Dave died on February 11 after being hospitalized for “heart issues.”
Rachel, who divorced Dave in 2020 after 16 years of marriage, talked about his passing and how she supports his children Jackson, Sawyer, Ford, and Noah during their grief.
“My way of helping them through this is, whatever you feel is fair, allowed, and real to you,” the 40-year-old remarked on the Rachel Hollis Podcast on February 27. “You have the right to feel those emotions.” We’re sad, angry, puzzled, and everything in between. But we’re a formidable force. We’re almost there. We’re a close-knit group. And it will take some time, but we will be fine.”
