(VOR News) – Even though Kamala Harris and the Democratic Party’s unprecedented fundraising effort raised $1 billion after her loss to Donald Trump, the vice president still wants more money.
Democrats keep boosting Kamala Harris supporters without requiring any promises. To attract donors, they are emphasizing alternative concerns like the Republican president-elect’s appointments to his government and legislative elections with uncounted ballots.
Michigan Democratic strategist Adrian Hemond said the Kamala Harris campaign is fundraising because they have spent more than they have received. He said the campaign asked for his money after Trump’s loss.
Harris’ extremely profitable email donor list is being used to recruit small-dollar donations practically daily.
Contributions to Kamala Harris under $100 are considered small-dollar contributions.
Hemond stressed the importance of post-election targeted approaches to major funders. The urgency of their continuous challenges and the costs of a fruitless endeavor are elevating the Democrats’ commitment to preserve a key political framework to fight the Trump administration and prepare for the 2026 midterm elections.
The Democratic Party’s spending on celebrity and vocalist events and advertising in unusual places like Las Vegas’ dome Sphere raises worries.
Due to a cash shortage, the campaign has purportedly stopped paying senior workers, even those guaranteed till the end of the year.
The decision was made on Saturday. An anonymous source said the campaign just informed impacted individuals that their health insurance coverage will be maintained until the end of the year. The announcement came amid internal unhappiness.
According to a second person familiar with fundraising and the DNC’s finances, the Kamala Harris campaign’s expected deficit is small compared to its size.
In mid-October, Kamala Harris declared $119 million in financial reserves before the November 5 election. To maintain anonymity, the individual was forbidden from discussing campaign money.
Harris campaign chief finance officer Patrick Stauffer said “there were no outstanding debts or overdue bills” on Election Day. He also said the campaign and DNC “will not have any debt” in their December financial statements to the Federal Election Commission.
Kamala Harris’ financial statements are difficult to determine, says an expert.
The campaign continues to receive invoices from suppliers for additional services and events until the contest ends. Media companies’ invoices for their personnel’s Air Force Two seats during the vice president’s campaign flights are also with the campaign.
Harris supporters got a plea for more contributions to “the Kamala Harris Fight Fund” shortly after Trump picked Florida Republican Matt Gaetz attorney general on Wednesday, emphasizing the new administration’s goals.
The email claims that Gaetz “will utilize the Justice Department for self-preservation” after resigning from the House due to recent events. He added that “even his Republican associates are bewildered by this Cabinet choice” and that Democrats “must thwart them from executing Trump’s plans for vengeance and retribution.”
Harris filed a further appeal on Friday.
Although “many pivotal races across the nation are still too close to determine or are subject to recounts or legal disputes,” the correspondence asserted that “the essence of America’s promise will persist as long as we continue to strive.”
The communications don’t reference Kamala Harris’ campaign or money. The “Harris Fight Fund” will replace the “Harris Victory Fund,” a fundraising effort by Harris’ campaign, the DNC, and state Democratic parties, after the election.
Regardless of the phrasing in recent appeals, most grassroots donations would go to the national party unless a donor contacted the DNC to urge that Kamala Harris or a state party get them.
The expansive phrasing at the end of the request stated that a political action committee would provide the DNC $15,000 and an individual $41,300. The Harris for President “Recount Account” requires $3,300 from individuals or $5,000 from PACs.
The state parties will get any surplus over that amount, subject to the maximum contribution restrictions, which can reach hundreds of thousands.
The DNC, which was expecting a leadership transition early next year, said they could not exclude financial support for Harris’ campaign but had no plans to fix any deficits.
