NEW YORK — Chappell Roan, the emerging pop sensation who has publicly struggled with her growing success in recent weeks, has withdrawn from this weekend’s All Things Go music festival.
“I apologise to everyone who has been looking forward to seeing me in NYC and DC this weekend at All Things Go, but I will be unable to perform. Things have grown overwhelming in the last several weeks, and I’m really feeling it,” Roan wrote on Instagram Friday.

She was scheduled to play at New York’s Forest Hills Stadium on Saturday and the Merriweather Post Pavilion outside of Washington on Sunday as part of the festival.
“I’m feeling pressured to prioritize a lot of things right now, and I need a few days to focus on my health. “I want to be present when I perform and give the best shows possible,” she added in her statement. “Thank you for understanding.”
Representatives for Roan did not immediately respond to The Associated Press’ request for comment. Representatives for All Things Go stated that they were “heartbroken.”
“All Things Go strongly supports artists prioritising their well-being and we ask our community to rally around Chappell Roan with love and understanding,” according to a release. “Let’s continue to show the world that music fans support not just the art, but the artists themselves.”
Last month, Roan posted a series of TikTok videos about her relationship with a celebrity and the improper ways in which people engage with her in public.
“I need you to answer questions; just answer this one for a second: If you encountered a random woman on the street, would you yell at her from your car window? “Would you harass her publicly?” She asked in the videos.
More recently, Roan faced criticism for not backing a presidential candidate in the forthcoming US election, unlike Taylor Swift and Billie Eilish, who are supporting Vice President Kamala Harris.
On Wednesday, Roan posted a TikTok video stating that she will not endorse a candidate but will vote for Harris. She expressed dissatisfaction with both major parties, stating she’s “not settling for what has been offered, because that’s questionable.”

Her glitzy, innuendo-laden debut, “The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess,” has climbed the album rankings in recent months and is currently at third on the Billboard 200 a year after its release. Her tremendous performances at festivals this summer are at least largely responsible for her success; a Lollapalooza spokeswoman stated that her slot last month was one of the festival’s largest midday sets in history.
Earlier this month, she won her first MTV Video Music Award for best new artist while performing at the ceremony. Her next performance is scheduled for Tuesday at the FirstBank Amphitheatre, located outside Nashville, Tennessee.
