Hailey Bieber Explains Why She Is “Scared” to Have Children
Hailey Bieber is eager to become a mother but is concerned about raising a child in the spotlight.
Since the model and Justin Bieber married in a courthouse wedding in 2018, their relationship has been under severe scrutiny, something they don’t want for their children.
“I cry about this all of the time!” Hailey acknowledged this in a recent interview with The Sunday Times. “I desperately want children, but I’m afraid.” People saying things about my husband or my pals is enough. I can’t imagine having to confront adults who say hurtful things about children.”
Ultimately, she hopes her future family has a supportive village. “We can only do our best to raise them,” Rhode Skin’s creator added. “As long as they are loved and feel safe.”
Hailey has faced backlash recently, causing her to send a statement about her difficult chapter.
“Truthfully, since 2023 started, I’ve had some of the saddest, hardest moments I’ve ever had in my adult life,” she wrote in an April Instagram Story post, “and my mind and emotions have been fragile to say the least.”

The backlash against Hailey grew earlier this year when it was claimed that she and her pal Kylie Jenner made fun of her husband’s ex, Selena Gomez. Even when Kylie openly refuted the accusation, the critics persisted.
Selena even came to Hailey’s defense. “Hailey Bieber reached out to me and let me know that she has been receiving death threats and such hateful negativity,” Selena said in March. “I don’t stand for this. Nobody should have to face hatred or bullying.”
In response, Hailey expressed her gratitude for Selena’s letter.
“I want to thank Selena for speaking out, as she and I have been discussing the last few weeks about how to move past this ongoing narrative between her and me,” Hailey wrote on her Instagram Story. “The last few weeks have been extremely difficult for everyone involved, and millions of people have witnessed so much hatred surrounding this, which is extremely harmful.”
“We all need to be more thoughtful about what we post and say, including myself,” she added. “In the end, I believe that love will always triumph over hatred and negativity, and that there will always be opportunities to meet each other with greater empathy and compassion.”
