Snitches don’t make friends in Hollywood, as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are discovering, become social lepers as the Hollywood elite avoids them at all costs.
Celebrities, including their high-profile neighbours Steven Spielberg, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, and Rob Lowe, are avoiding the exiled royals for fear of disclosing their secrets and alienating them from Prince William and Kate Middleton.
According to NewsNation, the Montecito-based couple were not even invited to Oprah Winfrey’s birthday celebration this year, despite her blockbuster interview with the Sussexes in March 2021.
“Everyone’s got a movie to sell and a Broadway play they want to debut on screen in London or [London’s] West End and they know that Prince William and Kate — who are the biggest [celebrity] gets over there won’t show if they think someone is friends with Harry and Meghan,” News Nation Now’s host Nichole Berlie said.
“My sources tell me it’s all about the money,” she went on to say. “And the big power players in Hollywood aren’t jeopardising their business for Harry and Meghan.”
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who separated from the royal family in 2020, were also turned down by the White House when they attempted to catch a journey on Air Force One after Queen Elizabeth’s state funeral in September.
According to reports, the White House was concerned that accompanying the estranged royals with President Biden and first lady Jill Biden would provoke a “commotion” and damage relations with Britain.
According to Froelich, Hollywood celebrities were also concerned about the couple disclosing their secrets.
“What if they dish on what’s in the refrigerator as well?” she wondered.
In his best-selling memoir, “Spare,” Harry said that while at a party at Courtney Cox’s Los Angeles home, an anonymous actor allegedly showed him a box of “black diamond mushroom chocolates” in Cox’s refrigerator.
“My mate and I grabbed several, gobbled them, and washed them down with tequila,” he wrote before going on to describe his hallucinations.
“Friends'” alum Cox denied providing the mushrooms, saying Variety, “I definitely wasn’t passing them out.”
According to vacation business On the Beach, despite being the fastest-selling nonfiction book of all time, “Spare” has become the most discarded book of the summer. Over 100 copies of the contentious tell-all have been dumped in hotel rooms, rubbish cans, and alongside pools in European resorts.
“We’ve never seen anything like it before.” “Our most popular resorts’ lost property offices are brimming with copies of ‘Spare,'” Chief customer officer Zoe Harris told the Express.
“At first, we thought it was funny, but several other hotels have returned the books in the last few months.”
Harris stated that the company now has “bookcases full” of “Spare” and has requested hotels to “stop sending them over otherwise we’ll never get rid of them all.”
Prince Harry and Meghan enraged
According to rumours, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry postponed a celebration at the last minute earlier this month after being enraged by media reports.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were said to be preparing a large gathering with friends on July 4 to commemorate American Independence Day. Gazebos had been erected in their Montecito home’s garden for the event, but they were removed when Meghan “instructed the planners to call it off.”
According to a source, the couple was enraged by media reports that their business arrangement with Netflix was under jeopardy.
Everyone engaged in the Archetypes podcast was “proud of the series we made together,” it said. According to reports, Spotify was eager to cancel the series after Meghan and Harry failed to create the minimum amount of content.
Bill Simmons, the streaming giant’s Head of Podcast Innovation and Monetization, even publicly referred to the couple as “f***ing grifters.”
Shortly later, a Netflix insider was quoted as saying that until the pair started offering better ideas, a large chunk of money could be withheld from them.
“Netflix was pleased to sign Harry and Meghan and is looking for some great ideas going forward,” according to a source at The Sun.
“However, the rest of the deal is contingent on them coming up with those good ideas.”
“The transaction is constantly being reviewed, which is normal for transactions of this magnitude.”
A spokeswoman for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex has denied that the Netflix arrangement will cease.
