Michelle Duggar Wears Leggings In Rare Family Photo
Jinger Duggar Vuolo Reveals Which of Her Siblings She Still Communicates With
Michelle Duggar’s newest fashion choice has piqued the interest of the internet.
In a family picture shared to daughter Jessa Duggar Seewald’s Instagram page on April 4, the 19 Kids and Counting alum wore leggings under a skirt paired with a blue shirt instead of her usual attire of long dresses and maxi skirts. The appearance sparked interest among fans, who had previously known Michelle to adhere to a family dress code that forbade women from wearing anything other than long skirts and dresses.
“So cool seeing Michelle in pants!!!” said one user, while another added, “Omg, mom is in pants!!!!!” “I adore it!!!”
Some social media users applauded Michelle, 56, for changing up her wardrobe, with one user writing, “Wow! Mom is dressed in trousers!! “WELL DONE, MOM!!!”
Michelle was one of many there for the event. Jana, 33, Jill, 31, Jessa, 30, Jinger, 29, and Joy-Anna, 25, are all wearing trousers in the picture. Next to them were their younger sisters Johannah, 17, Jennifer, 15, Jordyn-Grace, 14, and Josie, 13, whom Michelle shares with spouse Jim Bob Duggar.
Michelle Duggar’s newest fashion choice has piqued the interest of the internet.
Jinger, who married their husband Jeremy Vuolo in 2016, wrote in her book, The Hope We Hold: Finding Peace in the Promises of God, in May 2021, about her choice to “reexamine” her parents’ lifelong customs, such as the family’s dress code.
“My mother had always dressed us girls in skirts and dresses, a standard derived from Deuteronomy 22:5 (ESV), which states, ‘A woman shall not wear a man’s garment,’ and I never really questioned it,” she wrote. “Modesty was a big deal in our house, and we thought wearing skirts instead of pants was a big part of being modest.”
Jinger stated that after perusing “the Scriptures for answers,” she never found a “passage specifically forbidding women from wearing pants,” prompting her to draw conclusions.
“I grew up with a set of standards that I took for granted,” Jinger explained. “My convictions were changing as I reexamined and compared them to scripture.” Modesty isn’t defined by what you dress. It’s all about your heart’s attitude.”
