Meghan Trainor claims she has no excuses for being “careless with her words.”

The “Made You Look” singer recently drew outrage when she said “f–k teachers” during a podcast debate. Meghan, who has a 2-year-old son named Riley and is expecting her second child with husband Daryl Sabara, is now sharing an atonement message.

“Teachers of TikTok and teachers all over the world, I recently said ‘f teachers’ on the podcast, and it’s not how I feel,” she wrote on TikTok on April 23. “I was fired up because we were talking about how sending your child to school in America is so horrific, and what all of us, especially teachers, have to go through is not normal or okay.”

Meghan, who discussed her plans to educate her children on the April 19 episode of Workin’ On It with Meghan Trainor & Ryan Trainor, remarked while conversing with guest Trisha Paytas.

Meghan Trainor claims she has no excuses for being “careless with her words.”

“I knew about her history with teachers, and I knew about my husband’s history with teachers, and some teachers bullied me,” the 29-year-old stated. “So, at that moment, I got angry and said, ‘f teachers.’ F those specific human beings back in the day, but I did not mean that to all teachers.”

“I love teachers and fight for teachers,” Meghan continued. In my opinion, they have the most difficult work and are the most underpaid. They are the most underappreciated even though they essentially raise all of us. I won’t make excuses, and I’m truly sorry.”

The Grammy winner ended her apology by promising to reflect on her feelings in the future. “I am deeply sorry to any teachers I offended, and I will remind myself that my words have consequences,” she wrote. “And I will be more careful.”

Meghan also thanked the TikToker who created the now-viral stitch, including the segment from her podcast directly in the caption of her video, stating, “I am sorry for being careless with my words.” I adore instructors and am here to help you. Let us work together to make schools a better place.”
