Jamie Foxx has apologized for a social media remark that sparked antisemitism claims.

On August 4, the Oscar winner posted on Instagram, “THEY KILLED THIS DUDE.” WHAT DO YOU THINK THEY’LL DO TO YOU, JESUS? “#fakefriends #fakelove” Foxx erased the remark and released an explanation after receiving a reaction on social media.

“I want to apologize to the Jewish community and everyone offended by my post,” Foxx said on Instagram on August 5. “I now realize that my choice of words offended, and I apologize.” That was not my intention.”

He then explained himself. “To clarify, a fake friend betrayed me, and that’s what I meant by ‘they,'” he added. “In my heart, I only have love for everyone.” I adore and support the Jewish people. Please accept my heartfelt apologies to everyone upset. Always nothing but love, Jamie Foxx.”

Following the outrage, the actress promptly made her statement.

“This makes me sick,” Aniston said with the photograph on her Instagram Stories. “I didn’t ‘like’ this post on purpose or by chance.” More importantly, I want to make it plain to my friends and anyone offended by this appearing in their feeds that I do NOT endorse antisemitism. And I won’t tolerate any HATE. Period.”
