Hail Injures Dozens Of Concertgoers And The Cancellation Of Louis Tomlinson Show
DENVER, Colo. — A Hail storm pelted concertgoers at Red Rocks Amphitheatre outside Denver with golf ball-sized hail, forcing them to flee for cover, injuring hundreds, and forcing the show’s headliner, former One Direction member Louis Tomlinson, to cancel.
According to West Metro Fire Rescue, up to 90 persons were treated for non-life-threatening injuries caused by Wednesday night’s storm, including seven who were brought to a hospital. Some were injured by hail, while others were injured while fleeing the storm, receiving injuries such as lacerations, bruises, and broken bones, according to spokesman Ronda Scholting on Thursday.
In certain areas of the arena, the hail accumulated like snow. According to tweets from the location carved out of a sedimentary rock formation in the foothills, the event was first postponed due to rain, with attendees advised to seek cover in their vehicles. It was later postponed.
Beth Nabi, 44, had come from Dublin to Denver to see one of her favorite singers perform at the legendary arena. She reported seeing lightning and thunder in the distance at 7:15 p.m. As the weather deteriorated, concertgoers were told to take cover, but Nabi refused to give up hope of seeing Tomlinson. She claimed that hail began to fall while she was in the loo and that the area quickly filled up with other concertgoers attempting to flee the falling ice.
“I emerged from the bathroom stall to a bathroom crammed with as many people as could fit in there, all seeking shelter from the hail,” she explained.

The storm lasted around 10 minutes before she could leave the bathroom and observe all of the hail on the ground.
“The hailstorm was insane. It was terrifying. “It was quick,” she remarked.
To top it all off, when she returned to her rental car, the windscreen was smashed in many places, and the hood was dented. Nabi is eagerly awaiting word on when the concert will be rescheduled.
“I’m gutted it didn’t go on,” she lamented. “‘I’m hoping we get some news on when it can be rescheduled, and I hope I can make it because I was looking forward to the experience at that venue.”
Tomlinson said he was “devastated” by the cancellation and promised to return.
“I felt all of your passion even though we didn’t play the show!” “Sending you all love!” he exclaimed.
