While Jennifer Garner hasn’t appeared on Alias in nearly two decades, she still finds herself on various missions, including keeping her children off social media.
“I just said to my kids, ‘Show me the articles that prove that social media is good for teenagers, and then we’ll have the conversation,'” the actress, who has three children with ex-husband Ben Affleck, Violet, Seraphina, and Samuel, stated on the April 11 broadcast of Today. “Find scientific evidence that supports what I’m saying about it is being bad for teenagers, and then we’ll talk.”
What about Garner’s children’s feelings about not being able to use the apps? “My eldest is grateful,” she said. “And then we’ll see.” It’s a long journey. I have a couple more to go, so cross your fingers. We’ll see how long I can hold out.”
Garner, 50, also does not share images of her children on social media.
“Well, I would never share my kids,” the 13 Going on 30 stars told E! News in 2018. “That’s a significant hurdle right there…I’ve battled so hard for their privacy that it feels strange.”

Garner has made a few public appearances with her children, including sitting courtside with her son Samuel at a Los Angeles Lakers game in March and attending the White House State Dinner in December.
Fans recently learned how she and Affleck, who divorced in 2018, continue to work as a team to raise their children. In November, his wife, Jennifer Lopez, told Vogue that Garner is “an amazing co-parent, and they work well together.”
Affleck has also commended Garner’s parenting skills. “Parenting is hard work, but it’s so rewarding,” the Oscar winner, 50, told E! News in 2016, nearly a year after they announced their breakup for the first time. “And I surely give it my all. Jen is a superhero’s mother. She’s an incredible mother, and I consider myself fortunate to have her as a partner to co-parent these children. We do our best and prioritize them, which is what we do.”
