Ethan Slater Files for Divorce From Lilly Jay Amid Ariana Grande Romance

Ethan Slater is calling it quits with his divorced wife, Lilly Jay.

According to several media sites, the SpongeBob musical actor filed for divorce from his wife of four years—with whom he shares a young boy—on July 26.

The lawsuit was filed at the same time as Ethan’s rekindled romance with Wicked co-star Ariana Grande, who divorced her husband, Dalton Gomez, earlier this year.

Ethan and Lilly dated for ten years before someone familiar with the matter confirmed their breakup to E! News on July 20. The Broadway performer had paid Lilly numerous homages before his famous romance with Ariana.

In November, he posted a carousel of images on Instagram to commemorate their fourth wedding anniversary. “My best friend,” Ethan captioned the picture. 10 years together, 4 years married. And this year is, without a doubt, the best and most strange yet.

On Mother’s Day, seven months later, the 31-year-old lauded Lilly.

Slater posted pictures of himself and his newborn kid along with the message, “Happy first Mother’s Day to the most loving caring and wonderful mom/person in the world, from me and this little guy.”

Slater has made his Instagram account private since rumors of his relationship with Ariana first surfaced.

It is assumed that Ariana and Ethan first crossed paths on the set of the Wicked movie, in which the actress plays Glinda, and the Tony Award contender plays Boq.

The “Thank U, Next” singer enjoyed her time filming the movie in London. “Savouring every millisecond left with my Galinda,” she wrote in an April Instagram post, “even though she’ll be with me forever. To be in Oz, where every day brings the possibility of a life-changing event; to be experiencing, learning, and developing so quickly; to be surrounded by so much love.
