Emma Roberts Eyes Britney Spears biopic Role in Memoir Adaptation

Emma Roberts has voiced her delight about perhaps playing Britney Spears in a film adaptation of her memoir, “The Woman In Me.” Felicia Culotta, Spears’ long-time assistant, suggested Roberts for the role, citing the actress’ childhood success as a resemblance to Spears’ own early career.

In an interview with Cosmo, Roberts claimed that playing Spears had been a desire of hers for over 20 years, adding, “It’s my true dream to play Britney Spears.”

The film adaptation of Spears’ memoir has sparked widespread curiosity since the book debuted at the top of the New York Times best-sellers list.

Universal Studios won a bidding war for the film, which Jon M. Chu will direct. The biography focusses on Spears’ background, rise to stardom, and experiences during her conservatorship in 2008.

Roberts revealed that she had been prepared for this part since she was a child, including memorising Spears’ songs. “I remember I locked myself in my room and listened to In the Zone and said, ‘I cannot leave this room until I memorise every word,'” Roberts told the magazine Cosmo.

Culotta also recommended Timothée Chalamet as Justin Timberlake and Drew Barrymore as herself. The excitement for the picture grows, especially when Roberts’ enthusiasm fuels further speculation.
