Bart Johnson Defends Blake Lively Amid Criticism of ‘It Ends With Us’
Blake Lively’s brother-in-law, Bart Johnson, has expressed support for the actress following criticism of her film It Ends With Us.
Johnson, who is married to Blake’s older sister Robyn Lively, addressed the topic in the comments of a recent Instagram photo commemorating her birthday.
In a social media tribute, the High School Musical star shared images of them together over the years and said, “For 30 years I’ve had the privilege of being fiends [sic] with this kind, loving, committed, hard-working, and inspiring strong women (sic)!!”
“Someone who wants to make the world a better place and has been a great role model in a million different ways, including caring for others, spreading compassion, and, my personal favourite, putting her family first and being an amazing wife and mother.
“When I grow up, I want to be just like her. I have a long way to go. “I love you, Blake!!!”
Blake Lively’s Promotional Efforts and Their Impact on the Film’s Reception
However, one Instagram user expressed their dissatisfaction with Lively’s latest performance in It Ends With Us, writing under the photo, “Shame she’s so set on promoting happiness in a domestic violence setting without regard for any victims.” Blake disappointed me.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Johnson left a comment that has since been deleted: “I’m very sad you feel that way. I’m sure you have a big heart and wish for the best.
“I promise you that the truth has not yet been revealed. Blake worked more on this project than I have ever seen her do. Because it was so important to her.
“The message is in the book.” And in the film. “Not in short clips or interviews,” he added. “She is the reason the message/movie/is being spread.
“Were mistakes made? Yes. I make blunders in life. However, they are not under a microscope. Anyway, I respect your opinions. I have nothing but love for you.
Blake Lively, who appeared as Lily Bloom and produced the film adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s 2016 novel, has received criticism since its debut on August 9.
Critics have accused her of failing to appropriately address the film’s issues of domestic violence and poisonous relationships.
Despite sharing resources for domestic abuse sufferers on social media, some admirers believe she has failed to raise awareness.
Furthermore, Blake Lively has received criticism for pushing her new haircare line, Blake Brown, during the film’s promotional period, which some believe overshadows the film’s sensitive subject matter.
Reports about Blake Lively and Baldoni’s supposedly shattered relationship began to emerge around the film’s premiere in early August.
Baldoni, who played Ryle, has been accused of fostering a harsh working atmosphere that, according to THR, harmed Lively and other cast members.
This friction persisted into post-production, when two separate versions of the film were edited—one of which was championed by Blake Lively and is now playing in theatres.
