Spoilers for Celebrity MasterChef 2024 are as follows.
Celebrity MasterChef has announced the next two semi-finalists.
Tonight’s (August 30) program featured quarter-finalists Jake Quickenden, Jamie MacDonald, and Tamer Hassan competing in the third heat.
The celebrities were given only one hour and 15 minutes to prepare a two-course meal for judges John Torode and Gregg Wallace. Adding to the strain, past Masterchef contestants Su Pollard (2021 semi-finals), Vicky Pattison (2019 finalist), and Angellica Bell (2017 champion) tasted the meals.
The challenge began with a shaky start as the celebs struggled to find their footing in the kitchen. “My fingers are hurting from chopping, man,” Jake lamented, as Tamer searched for his missing cutlery.
Dancing on Ice winner. Jake served pappa al pomodoro as an appetiser, followed by pan-fried fish with smashed potatoes. Despite having to remove his charred salmon skin, both meals were well received by the visitors.
Tamer Hassan, a Game of Thrones star, produced a beginning of grilled octopus with parsnip puree. “I was completely wrong about the parsnip,” Gregg admits. “I actually find that delightful.” Meanwhile, his frutti di mare stew received accolades for its presentation.
Finally, standup comedian Jamie served a piece of meat with velvety mashed potatoes. The main course was praised for its bold tastes. This was followed by the episode’s lone dessert, a chocolate mousse served with a deep-fried chocolate bar.
After consulting with the dining room, the judges made the difficult decision as to who would advance to the next round. “I want to tell all three of you, it came down to incredibly fine margins,” Gregg explained to the celebs.
Jamie was eliminated from the competition, and he left a note for semi-finalists Jake and Tamer.
“They are absolutely lovely guys, so I wish them all the luck in the world,” he said. He chuckled and added: “And sod the pair of you for beating me!”
