2024 | CeeDee Lamb And The Dallas Cowboys Remain In Contact Amid Holdout, Jerry Jones Says
OXNARD, California – The Dallas Cowboys are still in contact with wide receiver CeeDee Lamb, who is skipping training camp in search of a new deal, owner Jerry Jones said Friday.
“I don’t think that’s anything I would comment on as far as proximity on meeting of minds, but we’re all talking,” Jones told the crowd.

CeeDee is entering the final year of his rookie contract after being drafted 17th overall in 2020. Last season, he led the NFL in receptions (135), yards receiving (1,749) and touchdown receptions (12).
CeeDee previously skipped minicamp in June, one day after Minnesota Vikings receiver Justin Jefferson signed the most valuable non-quarterback contract in league history.
CeeDee and Jefferson are practically tied in career statistics after being draughted six picks apart in the first round in 2020. Lamb and his representatives can argue that the 25-year-old deserves a record-breaking contract because he has raised his receptions, yards receiving, and touchdown receptions in his four seasons.
While the offense has sought to compensate for Lamb’s absence in camp, with third-year receiver Jalen Tolbert receiving additional reps, quarterback Dak Prescott hopes CeeDee will return soon.

“My birthday just passed, got a great ‘happy birthday’ message from him, and that led to some talks,” Prescott reported. “Yeah, man, I know he just told me he wants to get back, he’s eager to get back, and he’s hoping this thing works out for him. I know I am, and I hope we can get him back sooner rather than later. But I know he’s grinding, scratching, and working, and he’s eager to go back with the boys.”
