Grimes has filed a petition regarding the parental rights of her three children with Elon Musk.
According to court documents, Claire Boucher, also known as Grimes, filed a petition “to establish parental relationship” on September 29.
In a now-deleted social media post, Grimes, 35, previously accused Mr. Musk of restricting access to one of her sons.
Mr. Musk, age 52, has at least eleven offspring with three different women.
The details of the petition submitted to the San Francisco Superior Court are not available to the public.
Neither Grimes nor Mr. Musk could be reached for comment on the legal filing.
Grimes and Musk have three children: X A-1, also known as X, was born in May 2020, and Exa Dark Siderael, also known as Y, was delivered via surrogate in December 2021.

The birth of Mr. Musk’s third child, a boy named Techno Mechanicus or Tau, was recently disclosed in the journalist Walter Isaacson’s biography of Mr. Musk.
Grimes, with whom Mr. Musk had an intermittent relationship from 2018 to 2021, wrote in a post that has since been deleted that he “should let me see my son or plz respond to my lawyer.”
The post reportedly responded to an image of Mr. Musk’s twin children with tech executive Shivon Zivon posted by Mr. Isaacson.
“I have never even been allowed to see a photo of these children until now, despite the situation completely tearing my family apart,” Grimes wrote in a post published on September 7, a screenshot of which was shared by the website Jezebel.
Grimes apologized for the tweet in a subsequent post on X, formerly known as Twitter, on September 10 and stated that she intends to keep “my babies out of the public eye.”
Mr. Musk has at least eleven children, including six, with his ex-wife, the Canadian author Justine Mack.
Additionally, he was married twice to the Westworld actress Talulah Riley. The couple first wed in 2010, divorced in 2012, reconciled a year later, and divorced again in 2016.
The controversial tech tycoon is also the subject of two additional lawsuits filed in recent years.
On October 2, a California man filed a lawsuit against Mr. Musk, alleging he was harassed due to a false post – amplified by Musk – that falsely placed him at the site of a June far-right protest in Oregon. In a post cited by the lawsuit, Mr. Musk described the conflict as “probably a false flag situation.”
The same day, a separate lawsuit was filed in Florida by X Social Media, a company that accuses Mr. Musk of trademark infringement for the new name of Twitter.
