The late Steve Irwin’s daughter, Grace Warrior, recently recounted how she paid respect to her father with the name her daughter, Grace Warrior.
“When Grace was born, my first words to her as I held her in my arms were ‘graceful warrior.'” Bindi Powell, who has a 2-year-old son with her husband Chandler Powell, said in an April 17 interview. “Chandler and I agreed right away that that should be her name. Grace Warrior is the appropriate name for our daughter, and it feels like the perfect way to memorialize my father, the greatest Wildlife Warrior that ever lived.”
Apart from names, Bindi, who was 8 years old at the time of Steve’s death, has continued her father’s commitment to protecting wildlife.

“I hope he is proud of what we have accomplished for conservation,” she added. “It’s hard to believe it’s been more than 16 years since he died.” In some respects, it seems like only yesterday that we were on our last family crocodile research trip. His passion and love will go on, giving me immense peace.”
And an affinity for animals is something that runs in the family.
“Grace Irwin already loves animals so much that it’s easy to share the wonder of animals,” Bindi, now 24 years old, explained. “I’m excited because I know that as she ages, we’ll be able to teach her little tidbits about each animal she meets.”
On the other hand, Grace Irwin can follow in her family’s conservationist footsteps. All that counts to Bindi is that her daughter stays loyal to herself.
“I hope our daughter will follow her heart in life and pursue a path that brings her fulfillment and happiness,” Bindi added. “I want her to know that no matter what she decides, I’ll always be rooting for her and there if she needs a shoulder to cry on.”
