(VOR News) – President Biden expressed optimism amid ongoing wars and other global crises during his farewell speech to the United Nations on Tuesday, and he proposed expanded help targeted at combating the MPOX pandemic.

Biden declared that the United States would send one million doses of the MPOX vaccine in addition to providing $500 million to help African countries prevent and treat the disease. In his remarks, Biden said, “We now urge our partners to align with our pledge and establish a billion-dollar commitment to the people of Africa.”

Noting that the United States was still fighting in Vietnam at the time, Biden told the leaders he had seen “a remarkable sweep of history” since his first election during the Cold War.

He said, “Our country was divided and bitter, creating questions about our fortitude and prospects going forward.”

Biden sees the U.S.-Vietnam relationship as successful diplomatically.

As part of a wider range of global concerns that have improved, Biden said, the United States and Vietnam formally expanded their diplomatic and trade relations last year.

It proves that progress was made even in the face of war’s horrors. It is feasible to make improvements. We have to keep that in mind at all times, he said.

I am aware that many people view the current status of the world as full of difficulties and react in despair, but I do not feel this way. “I will not,” said Biden, urging world leaders to resist the forces that sow discord and mayhem everywhere.

Among the Biden major international issues are Sudan, Gaza, and Ukraine.

According to him, the international community should continue to back Ukraine in its fight against Russia while simultaneously working to end the Gaza War and defuse tensions in the Middle East. He pleaded on UN members to act in order to address the humanitarian crisis and resolve the situation in Sudan.

The generals need not receive armaments from the rest of the globe. to come together and say, “Stop dividing your country.” Give up impeding aid to the people of Sudan. “Cease this war immediately,” said Biden.

While praising China for its cooperation in reducing the world’s trafficking in synthetic drugs, Biden emphasised that the international community must continue to resist economic and military pressure.

“To make sure that the forces that are bringing us together are stronger than those that are tearing us apart is our goal, our challenge,” he said.

World leaders today must deal with artificial intelligence, says Biden.

In his speech, Biden devoted a considerable amount of time to discussing artificial intelligence, claiming that it is the greatest problem facing world leadership and that it has the potential to drastically change fields such as science, labour, life, and combat.

Declaring, “AI poses serious risks, such as deep fakes, misinformation, new diseases, and bioweapons,” Biden emphasised preliminary international initiatives to create “global regulations” for the technology.

But let’s be honest—this is only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to a bigger problem. He declared that in order to ensure that AI is safe, secure, and equitable, a “urgent effort” is needed to regulate this new technology.

“It is imperative that the extraordinary potential of artificial intelligence is employed to elevate and enable common people, instead of furnishing despots with increasingly severe limitations on human nature in the times ahead,” he declared.

In closing, Biden stated that upholding democracy has been his top priority as president and urged other leaders to pay attention to and serve their citizens.

“Those who fully empower their populace to express themselves freely, to think independently, to innovate, to educate, and to live and love openly, devoid of fear,” said Biden, drawing parallels between the end of apartheid, the fall of the Berlin Wall, the recent political unrest in Venezuela, and LGBT activism in Uganda.

“Let us always remember, esteemed colleagues, that certain principles transcend mere power retention.” It must involve your team. The individuals with whom you spend the most time are very important. The governor emphasised, “Always remember that our purpose is to serve the populace, not the reverse.”
